Good to see the Prince again. I'm glad to see him enjoying himself. "The Princess Royal" is far far better than 6.7. But then for an opening rating, I guess that isn't too bad. I find myself binging then I have to let it go for a day or so, because I don't want to finish it so soon. It's that good. I find Dilraba's Cleopatra-style dress just stunning. I enjoyed The Princess Royal. The drama has a script with some interesting twists & memorable conclusions as to what is the ultimate value of political power. Is being the "top dog" worth living life in emotional isolation and worse still, the target of bottomless envy or hatred? Enough attention is given to costume & stage design, the performances are of high level by all the actors (not just the leads). Already streaming on Viki, TPR will be available on Netflix from July 19th. The Douban rating is meaningless to international viewers such as myself (we are mostly out of the grip of China based advertising & marketing initiatives) but a healthy spread of 3*, 4*, 5* votes belies the 6.7 score; the voting sample is a respectable 28,000. The Princess Royal team have done well 😊

Its so hard to believe that JJ is already walking and running. Marcus - I’m certain that I’m not the only person to recognize or say this - but that precious little boy looks EXACTLY like you - LOL. What a cutie. I’m a “boy mom,” mother to 2 sons and we almost lived at the baseball field, soccer field, football field, basketball gym - LOL. I loved every minute of it. I have a stepdaughter whom I love dearly as well - cheerleading camp, cheerleading competitions, softball field….still just as busy as with my “little” boys who are now ages 38 & 34. They grow up so fast….value and absorb every single minute & experience that you share with JJ. I’m sure you & your beautiful wife are already doing just that. He really is a handsome little man. PS: Enjoying Lost You Forever Season 2 - waiting for episode 11 to drop. I have to say that while I am enjoying it thus far, the plot is taking a turn that’s making me nervous - LOL. Not her playing Peggy, I don't think so : in The Double, none of the actresses knew how to handle the instrument, which they called erroneously a "qin". This instrument is not played with naked fingers as in the drama!!! I don't believe she learned it since. It's someone else who was playing bgm... probably uncredited too. It actually is one thing which grated for me in that drama. I mean, Wu Lei at least did take lessons to do his very short scene of guqin playing in LLTG. If you want a genuine guzheng player, go to Zhao Lusi : she plays the instrument for pleasure, and once a little bit on stage, before going on to singing Mang zhong ( kzbin.info5tsockZGGdw ) + longer here : kzbin.info/www/bejne/rJbKiHeNh9OHgJo (look at what she has on her fingers : this is how you play the guzheng, it's clear also when you watch her singing, she still has the finger picks on both hands : "As one increases in level, they would also wear the finger picks on their left hand too. These not only protect your fingers from blistering, but also make sure that the sound comes out bright and not muffled when the string is plucked."). Wu Jin Yan knows how to dance : that's her training.

@@peggytanaka8168 nope No offense intended but the way you wrote your message with capital letters misleads to believe Wu Jinyan is skilled at guzheng. You were probably tired so it came out different from your intention, perhaps You could have written differently if you wanted to highlight the piece as an important part of the drama development. Better still would have been if you had found the name of the real artist in BGM. But I tried too, though not doggedly, and did not find it either, so will not reproach that no-one here has come up with real credit for that particular instrument player... The OST is nice, yes, but I would so much prefer no undue credit for absent skill be reaped by cast incl. Wu Jinyan. I don't hate her, won't shun her dramas after her being lauded for inexistent skill by mistake. She has plenty other ones. Enjoy the guzheng piece and expand your knowledge about the instrument, player, composer if you can find the data: that's what I recommend. 😁 My phone is tired and my clumsy thumbs too, so I will give them a rest now. Enjoying otherwise your lists, comments, and recoms😆

On the TV drama standings: I guess people really like Tan Songyun ... I didn't expect LYF to come in second this week ... but not feeling bad about it, as I'm following As Beautiful as You and really liking it. I also think people don't give Xu Kai as much credit as he deserves. Lots of really interesting dramas on the table right now ... just have to figure out how to squeeze in as many as possible while catching up on my back list of TBW ... lol
