A few things about this episode and the game as a whole: 1. The voice actors are in their own league. - Trevor Hoffmann, the voice of Ben, gave his all for this episode, and that speech was amazing. It's a shame he's only done this and the 400 Days DLC. - Lee is voice by Dave Fennoy, an incredibly skilled voice actor who's also done work for The Wolf Among Us, Batman: Arkham Knight, and the Telltale Batman games. - Clementine's voice actor, Melissa Hutchison, has practically done voice work for every big Telltale game to date. Not only that, but she's also credited for some additional voices for TLOU2 and the English dub of Sailor Moon! - Kenny's voice actor, Gavin Hammon, also did additional voices for TLOU2, Uncharted 4, and Destiny 2. 2. This game took about 2 years to develop, from 2010 to 2012. Development on Season 2 started right after the first one finished in November 2012 and released Episode 1 after 13 months in December 2013. 3. The 400 Days DLC is a VERY short mini-series where you play as 5 different characters: Vince, Wyatt, Russel, Bonnie, and Shel. And when I say short, I mean SHORT. The entire DLC is about the length of one normal episode, and I would highly recommend playing it before going into Season 2. Really enjoyed the series, Jett! I'm eager for the other seasons as well (whenever that may be 🙂).

it REALLY wasn't lol. It hits hard ofc, but I never cried for Lee and Clem in this season. I def got very teary-eyed, but never cried. And the reason is this... Clem is kinda too young to actually be a PROPER character (until the very end). She is mostly just a device to gauge the player's moral choices with. There is no real conflict between the two. They do have some great interactions, and Lee tries to teach her stuff and lessons about life and survival. But without conflict, without a STRONG sense of character... the relationship is mostly one-sided (from a writing perspective), and doesn't impact me that much. OFC Lee cares for Clem, he will fight for her, and he wants to impart good things on her. And all that is very sweet, but what else is there outside of that? Not a whole lot. Clem comes into her own when she becomes a more active character in the next season. That's when things with her ACTUALLY get interesting, and she has to make choices, and use what Lee taught her, etc. It is why Clem and Lee's best scene is their VERY LAST ONE when Lee walks Clem through shooting him, cuz proper conflict enters the situation. Also, Clem's voice was VERY clearly an older woman doing the voice of a very young child, and that often took me out of the moment lol. This problem naturally goes away as Clem grows up, so the actor eventually drops the child voice. [SPOILERS FOR SEASON 4] . . . . . . . When Lee briefly makes a return in a flashback in the final episode of the series, I cried there. Because Clem had actually grown into a proper character and they could talk about stuff. And ofc, the nostalgia did hit. But still, Lee isn't actually there. But the scene is good. Anyways, just putting into words why Lee & Clem never personally clicked for me like Joel & Ellie did. If you dig one over the other, you go on right ahead.

My theory as to why Lee got bit "out of the blue" by some normal walker and not in a blaze of glory, is because Lee was so distracted by the thought of Clem being taken and possibly hurt that he wasn't thinking about himself--only her. That almost makes it worse :(

Imo season 2 was even more depressing than the first. But it's worth noticing that I played them when we had no idea of further seasons, so we all though that Season 2 was going to be the end. Some people give it shit, but I think it followed the first seasons formula of story telling much better than the rest, as S3 & S4 relied on pre-determined relationships much more. Season 3 was absolute horseshit, can't deny that. But Telltale was at a weird point at that time. I don't know how to feel about it in hindsight. You can pretty much skip over it except the one Clem flashback and still have a complete experience, but as a standalone I guess it was alright.

This game (this episode specifically) was the first to ever make me cry at a video game, that ending is still iconic in how emotional it is to this day! Watching Berleezy play this back in 2017 (almost 7 years ago now, sheesh!) hit different, and this playthrough had me just as immersed even though I've seen and played this game a ridiculous number of times now. Also, interesting fact: When the creepy guy asks you if you've ever hurt somebody you love, if you say yes, you can choose to talk about Lee's wife and actually get to hear the story about what he did to the senator that got him arrested at the start (it seems as though the way he takes out the creepy guy mirrors that, which is why Lee looks a bit shocked after doing it). While you may take a break before starting season 2, I highly recommend checking out Season One's bonus episode: "400 Days" (at the end of the season 1 episode scroll menu). 400 Days is a DLC that came out back in 2013 (almost 11 years ago, sheesh!) and it's meant to bridge the gap between season 1 & 2 by introducing characters and story elements that carry over into the next season 🙏🏾 It's not 100% needed to be played, but I think it does enhance the overall story if you check it out (think of it like The Walking Dead's version of the Left Behind DLC from The Last of Us). I will also say that it has no ties to Clementine and her story, so it's something from this series that you can play without fear of breaking down for the 4th episode in a row 💀

I hate to say it but Lee getting bit like that was better than a self sacrifice type of way bc that’s happened to so many main characters in the past but this was more realistic
@Jigsawn26 ай бұрын
Yeah it's like in project zomboid. You can have everything going for you, survived for months, and one little bit of carelessness and boom, you're bit and it's all over. I also like that they made it this way in walking dead, fits with the theme of the story where you just make the best of the time you have and people don't go out all heroically like in the movies.

This part at 26:26 always _kills_ me! You see it all the time inside houses in The Last of Us, but Kenny and Lee really should have pushed that desk down the dang stairs. The zombies easily climbed over the desk with it blocking the hallway, but its not so easy if the desk is on a slope! There are legit _so_ many houses in The Last of Us, where the upstairs is inaccessible due to the stairs being blocked by a big desk!
