True BUT it also applies to the men. I've seen it with my own eyes. My dad comes home/wakes up etc, and he's always in a bad mood rarely smiles, whereas the rest of us his family his wife are smiling, talking laughing, and he comes in and spoils everyone's mood with his frown and constant admonishment. And mashaAllah with other people he's the most angelic jolly person you've ever met. How can someone put zero effort for the atmosphere of their own family??

Yes. The best advice is free. I've done that whole smile technique for 18 years now, 😂 I just get met with a grumpy face. As a revert to Islam who studied Islam before I ever met my husband, sadly, I find most Muslims follow bidd3a more so than Islam. The part where he said stay silent? I think he should have put some context to that, stone walling as in using silence as a weapon is one of the horsemen which destroys a marriage. Silence to listen, think where the other person is coming from, acknowledge where the other spouse is coming from, then coherent response after & a simple apology stretches far more. Far too many mumima employ the smile tactic, get ignored then the man wonders why the wife just dips out.

Irrespective of religion it is not right for a man to be looking at other women if they are married. Not only does it show weak mind, but disrespect for the wife. Over time can lead to a multitude of haraam/sins, arguments and divorce. What wife in her right mind will ignore her husbands waivering eyes?? If a woman does it we would get called all types of names and be held to account instesd of excuses being made!

The message is true, but also very simplistic. Both genders have to compromise. I understand the reasoning of mens attractions to women, but honestly it cannot be used as an excuse or that my wife didn't smile at me so I look elsewhere. The problem lies with communication. Unfortunately in my community spouses actually talking to each other is in many cases non existent. All that exists is this idea of duty.
