Sunbeams do well on active basses also and respond well to any active tone shaping. I have them on two Stingrays and a Sadowsky Metroline. They are very balanced and are my idea of what a bass guitar should sound like unless you really want to melt faces when playing.

I have the fat beams currently on my p-bass and I love them. This video is making me consider the sunbeams next time I restring. The pure blues in your comparison video also had me interested. Pure blues for my j and sunbeams for my p. DR makes the nicest feeling round wound.

they are soft, fat sounding and also sound like well broken in rounds pretty fast. I like them, very special kind of strings.

I love my Sunbeams! They do sound great on my Tony Franklin fretless! Nice selection of songs to demo these. They are flexible and have a nice feel. I tried them on my Fender Am Pro II when I first got it, but preferred he punch of the Fender 7250. However, after listening to this, I just ordered another set to try them again. Thanks for reviewing them. PS, and they are endorsed by two of my favorites - Adam Clayton and Tony Franklin.

I've got Sunbeams on my fretless P and absolutely love them. Hi-Beams on my Epi Thunderbird. DR just makes great strings. They're the smoothest feeling rounds, to me.
