There's a lot of art tutorials out there about how to draw dinos from Jurassic Park/World, but not many that cover a more scientifically accurate lens. This video discusses the various techniques and tools you can use to create paleoart within the realm of accuracy.

If you use procreate , silver colored lens is a good channel It doesnt draw dinosaur but it teaches anatomy and good brushes for it

There are dinosaurs and marine reptiles and a few other animals that they’ve actually discovered what their colors looked like in fossilized skin and feathers. Plus there’s a few mummified dinosaurs that have been found too

since your last Paleo Animal of the Mouth video was on Perucetus I would like to tell you that I have drawn a Barinasuchus eating the carcass of a dead one in one of my sketchbooks. I took inspiration from Polar Bears feasting on a dead Bowhead Whale as well as the Tyrannosaurus and Alamosaurus scene from Prehistoric Planet.

Lots and lots of time and failure. You can look back at some of my first videos if you'd like 😅 I've grown a lot since then. Patience is key when it comes to increasing your skills, so never give up (but taking breaks is okay)!

My main problem with drawing PaleoArt is that I don't know how to paint dinosaurs correctly. No matter how hard I try, I still can't do it. Can you tell me if there are any tutorials on this topic?

Are you physically or digitally painting? I definitely share your pain. Coloring dinos is super difficult, especially trying to come up with natural color schemes. The only ones I know of are from FredTheDinosaurman, but I think they're more like speed-drawings rather than tutorials. Also, check out James Gurney's youtube channel! He has some tips for painting dinosaurs as well.

Whenever I draw a dinosaur, I find it hard to not fully scale the dinosaur XD, I just can’t seem to find out how to actually make it look good, without fully scaling it.

Sometimes fully scaling a dinosaur works, like in close-ups or detail studies. I usually try to identify areas where the scales would be most prominent/noticeable and draw those, then make the scales fade out into the skin. A paleoartist I often use for reference in regards to detail is Gabriel Ugueto, since he posts uncolored sketches and illustrates studies of dinosaurs in different poses.

Prehistoric Planet is quite good. It does feature Tyrannosaurus, but there are several other prehistoric animals that are just as important. I'm also a big fan of Dinotasia. It's a bit more story-driven and not quite as educational, but still a good watch. The main focus of that documentary is Allosaurus.

Use skeletal references! Also, make sure to sketch them out first. That way, if you notice that they're too long or too short, you can erase and try again.
