Ugh man this guide is so good its straight up Runescape level, my man covers agroe, damage rotations, super rotations, gear setup, damage range, and even covers the stuff that MIGHT happen during it. I watched a lot of vids on how to solo CE, most aren't very in depth and the rest don't say anything to help at all, they just let us watch them.... Yours is by far one of the most helpful. I ended up not using sunbreakers and just went with a single solar nade and wore Alchemists Raiment for the extra Sleeper ammo and the Arc resistance(for the Crota fight, the rest of my run was same as your setup). I used 4 solar nades to make Crota kneel, couldn't get the timing down with 3. I've had a couple Knuckles of Eao in my inventory forever so I really wanted to get this done as I'm a solo player and CE is pretty much the only one I can solo. Ended up getting Word of Crota, Song of Ir Yut, Light in the Abyss(the ship) and the Dance of bones shader just from Crota... Thanks for doing this, especially so close to D2. Edit: A tip if you can't get that last hit on Crota before he stands up, just toss a solar nade at him and hit him with a couple Sleeper shots and he should kneel again, pick the sword back up and finish him off. I've seen vids where it works with Sleeper or Gally, some suggested before that last kneel to switch to Gally and use a synth just incase.

Great guide! Just finished a solo run using your method here. I've done this solo prior to the AoT changes, I used fusion grenades in the past to down Crota. Using solar grenades like you suggest is much more consistent. I hope you do more content like this for D2.

Nice guide! One tip on the lamps, you can actually run all the way to the third lamp without stopping, which would let you skip those first couple, where the solar grenade strat can get a little dodgy.

I’m not gonna lie, I see why LobiZon said it’s tricky to get 4 kneels and kill Crota that way. I’ve done it that way solo and it’s all about Timing. I throw my grenades and look at his overshield and just slam. Personally it’s easier, but requires you to be really precise. I did like this video and thought it was helpful, but I couldn’t beat Crota with the recommended strategy because he would freakin’ kill me before I go under the tower which is annoying

Full auto shotgun is the best alternative to razelighter IMO. Ir Yut is pretty wimpy so just take care of the Knights guarding her first and then unleash with a shotty. I've seen people sniper her as well but i would not recommend as she is quite shifty. I guess you could also try switching to Gally quick after destroying the last Shrieker and pop a heavy synth. Razelighter is the best because it's the fastest way to kill her and very often you are pressed for time at the end of that fight. Sometimes she can be hard to hit with the R2 Uppercut if she is hovering high up. In that case i would just try to Double swipe her to death. The double swipe techinque is as follows: Jump in the air Hit R1 Quickly Hit R2 Repeat Hope this helps, let me know how it goes!

Nice guide! re: bridge- Bad Juju doesn't do anything that Shine On (on your raid helmet) doesn't (i.e. super gained from Shine On is the same as Bad Juju and Inverse Shadow together), so you could use your exotic slot on Raze Lighter.

Great video! I do have a question though. I have a REALLY difficult time consistently making it across the bridge. It’s like 9 times out of 10 I don’t have enough height and fall at the end. Maxed out my agility and run burst glide. (Although I have made it before with Balanced glide too) It’s been driving me insane and I can’t wrap my head around what I’m doing wrong.

Thanks! I think the two most common reasons for not having enough height are: 1. Not swinging the sword fast enough. Really mash on the swing button to make sure your gliding as much as possible. I've seen people lose height after each swing trying to time it. 2. Starting the sword gliding too early/ late. You really want to let your burst glide max out before starting. The key is to start swinging RIGHT BEFORE the burst runs out. If you wait until the burst jump runs out and then start swinging you'll lose too much height in between. If you start too early you won't be high enough to make it. There's a sweet spot which you can nail it every time. Let me know if this helps

Love the guide! I really enjoy watching Esoterickk as well, but as others have pointed out, he doesn't really explain the mechanics involved. Anyways, I ran the easy version, just to familiarize myself with the raid and make it a tad more forgiving, and now I'm working on the 390 version. When it comes to Ir Yut, I can get the ammo for my raze lighter, but I can't get my raze lighter to 2 shot the yellow knights. At best it I can get them in 3 with an R1, and 2 R2's, but I just feel like I'm wasting time with it, and putting myself at risk of dying from the knights in the towers. The sword is at 400, I make place it back on warrior of light after getting the ammo, but it won't 2 shot. Eso is able to get the 2 hit combo to work as well, so I'm just not quite sure what I'm doing wrong. Any help would be appreciated, and sorry for the long post! Keep up the great work!

Daniel Borntrager thanks for the kind words! It's awesome you're giving this a shot, keep it up you're very close! Couple thoughts on the sword issue: - you're sword is 400 but is your guardian 400 overall? If not this could very well be the issue since overall LL is directly tied to your damage output. I realize I did not mention this in the video and I should have! - for a while I struggled to get solid hits on the knights with the sword. I found that it became alot more consistent the closer I was to them when attacking. Try waiting to start the combo until you are very close. - as insurance, try this combo instead of the two hit: R1, R1, R2. It won't take much more time and is insurance Incase your first R1 doesn't connect well - if you are running solar flare grenades try launching one at the knights. The Viking funeral will act as insurance since it gives you a damage buff in addition to the native damage of the grenade itself. - use your super offensively. While radiance is active you get damage bonus and gazillion grenades. try switching off Fireborn and onto the perk that increases armor while in radiance. - try dark drinker sword if you have it. Dark drinker can be more forgiving in terms of connecting your R2 hit on the knights. I still think raze lighter is the way to go for this section but plenty of people have used dark drinker successfully. Hope this helps dude! I know this is a tad bit late so no ones gona respond. But on my attempts to shoot the over soul I get the correct spot and can kill it but I get shot and killed by crota 50% of the time.Idk if this is rng or just me being in a bad position but if anyone has tips lmk

J Arnold hey dude! If you're getting hit by crota after destroying the oversoul my first guess would be that you are on top rock instead of bottom rock. There are two rocks on that side of crota and you need to be on the lower one to have the cover you need from crota. If you are infact on bottom rock make sure you are flush against the wall like I am in the video. Lemme know how it goes! Dalton Brown hey dude. To my knowledge there has been no patch made to this raid. If you are hitting the barrier there are usually two reasons why. 1. You’re not aiming far enough left when you start. When you’re atop the pillar ready to jump, make sure u are looking in the exact direction that do in the video 2. You’re turning to your right too soon while swiping the sword. It’s important to gradually turn right while swiping in the air. Here’s the pattern you should be sticking to. - stand on platform - look/aim well left of the bridge (see video for example) - run>jump/glide - swipe three times while continuing to look at the same position as when you jumped - on swipes 4-6 slowly turn right with each swipe until u are aiming straight at the bridge. Make sure to only turn right a little bit with each swipe here Good luck man!

I used to be a sword bearer back in year one and demanded my raid team to keep working with me for 4 kneels instead of the 5 even after we got our rewards because it was a lot more effective to master that back when Crota didn’t just get enraged but would say fuck this, glitch into not giving a fuck about you or anybody or where he was limited to moving, he would eat 10+ ghorn rockets and not kneel, yeet anybody too close into a wall harder than a phalanx does, chase your boys into the safe room, and then finally square up with the sword bearer and bitch smack them or cast the over soul and fuck the last set of guys over because he wanted to be a dark souls boss not a destiny boss lmao. I got no land beyond 3 times in a row from Crota as well as oversouls. Everybody laughed every single time and I screamed louder every time I got NLB because I wasn’t a sniper and hated the gun forever. Only many years later have I truly picked up the gun and learned to respect it and honestly no land beyond is horrifying to deal with in the right hands in pvp and I’ve gotten stupid ass kills with it that made the enemy team lose the game hard because I just knew where they were gonna be even though I don’t consider myself a sniper really, not yet anyway. No land beyond is stupidly strong though it puts most things to shame when your placement is perfect, and necrochasm is still one of my favorite exotic guns, I loved it when I was the only one of my friends who actually got it back forever ago, and I used it reasonably against people and it was good in the right hands it just never would not trade with thorn is all which was its big problem. Also necrochasm is something special in control, because even though zhalo supercell is probably the better arc primary exotic in pve, necrochasm ruins lives in control points beautifully well and on heavy ammo too, and man I haven’t even started testing it with bolt grenade tactics where multiple enemies are in pvp yet so necro has to be scary in actuality for that niche especially now with it having zen moment. But yeah, thank you for this guide man, and guys always respect guns, builds, methods, and be humble and persistent with what you do. Also fuck Crota he’s still the same bitchass dickhead who deserved to get punked as he was in the first week when he decided he wanted to ruin everybody’s spirits by refusing to kneel. Oryx was hard to fight, but Crota in his first week did not give two shits about anything guardians did at all. Guys please continue having fun in destiny if you still play thank you for reading

Lobizon Yeah, uhhm... don't want to bother you but I've encoutered another problem - the doors to the chest after shreekers do not open :D. Is it suppose to be like that? Edit: nevermind, it appears I just somehow ran through them and didn't even get a chance to open the chest.

Hey! One thing to note here is that this part is on a hidden timer. Those doors start open and will slowly close as you are running through the Shrieker gauntlet part. If you are getting to the end of the hall and finding that the doors are close, it is probably because you took too long. It's actually not an easy part due to this. Definitely use Gally on the shriekers

Nice work doing it again! I think the bridge was definitely more difficult but i found Crota to be easier than in Y1. Mainly because they added a delay from the point he gets up from a kneel til the point he can attack you with his sword. Much more forgiving. Thanks for watching!

Just got lucky on that I suppose. But you don't need that much heavy for the crota fight. Just enough to pop the oversoul with sleeper (2 per cycle, so 10 total shots)

Hey! It actually IS possible on Titan but the bridge part is much more difficult because you can't do the resurrection trick. I would recommend checking out Esoterikk's channel - he's the master of soloing raids and def had a video showing the bridge part on Titan. Good luck!

Hakeem Dude the sword has a super just like any of the subclasses. When holding the sword you will see your super meter fill up. Once full you can do the sword smash super the same way you would your characters normal super. L1+R1 at the same time.

Hey dude! Do you mean how to get him back into view when you are standing on the rock? If so, double jump ( a quick warlock glide) and crota will see you and come into view so u can toss nades. If you are finding that you are losing to the enrage timer there are two pieces of advice I can give. 1. Don't kill the knights in the initial spawn room. It is not necessary to kill the knights here and it wastes alot of time. Definitely kill all the acolytes but then just jump over the knights on your way down to get the chalice. They wont bother you the rest of the encounter unless you head back into the spawn room which is not necessary. This will help alot with your time issue. 2. Keep an eye on Crota when clearing out ads in the ogre rooms. Ideally you want to clear out all ads and then as soon as Crota begins to rotate back to the main stage kill the sword bearer and get after Crota quickly. Crota is up on the main stage for a good amount of time but the quicker you can actually damage him the better. If you are doing 5 rotations as I do in the video, you need to be efficient with your time and attacking Crota quickly will help. Hope this helps. i almost did it earlier in 4 kneels but a fucking thrall killed me off all things. i was extremely salty. i was doing esotericks hit pattern, ill try yours next. maybe its easier. also tried the solar nades instead of fusion. when i use solar, i havd to toss 4 to get him to kneel, couldnt do the 3 u do in the vid. does viking funeral need to back active when i hit him wih my sword? if so, the timing seems insane.
