with my dog as soon as i got him at 8 weeks i had him outdoors whenever possible (winter in feb in the northeast was not fun lol) i had him in a papoose whenever i took my lab for walks and he would go in grass if he needed to go. whenever he needed to go out i had my lab follow him to show him thats where buisness is done. i also had a friend regularly bring his pit pups over who were born on the same day he was. my lab also showed him how to greet other dogs and that strangers are ok (he is still wary but i think that has to do with his mix) she also helped him be confident with other dogs. so confident that he chased off a bear and her cubs. sometimes with other dogs and animals the besenji half of him kicks in and he thinks he can take on a lion (one of the animals the breed hunts)

Its nice to have a good dog teach a new dog the rules of the land we are looking for. That's why i really like group walks because the new dogs get to learn so much so fast by seeing the others with there humans doing really well and having a nice relaxed time

How do you teach a pet dog what behavior isnt acceptable ? My puppy jumps and bites pretty agressively, I try to get a leash on her and show her calm is good but im getting torn apart by her teeth lol. The day to day life of a pet dog, what do I do? I walk her and play, and then what? I dont want to turn her off but I need time to do chores around the house without not watching her she will eat my couch

This is an excellent video narrating how you don’t achieve perfection without putting the time effort and patience. Be consistent everyday leads to success or the results. But in reality no one wants to put in the effort (including me). Before going to bed I make a list of things to do with the dogs but the next day just passes without me doing anything or maybe 1 thing out of that list. I’m trying to discipline my mind so I can start to focus and get things done. Anyways great video as always. Useful and very informative

Dogs are not tv's. we cannot just turn in on when we want stimulation and turn it off when we are done. Dogs need to be actively worked with to be able to have that positive experience we are wanting from them. the more work you put in the better experience you will have. Not sure why so many people have been so disconnected from this logic

Hey Mark, Robert Hynes pointed you out so I came over to give you a listen. You say something very important at the 29:00 minute point. You spend all your time with your animals, either working them or letting them do their jobs. No wasting time with the tv or other pointless distractions. In terms of a healthy relationship with your dog(s), time = money. Ignoring them in favour of other stuff seems a good way to miss out or introduce problems to the relationship.

the more you work and play and hang out with your dog the better they will be. this logic may not work with humans but sure does work with most all animals.
