Glad he did it this way instead of just not filming it at all and just going to the Yonshakudama Shells and the end. Is the launch charge inside the sphere as well? Or is there a separate charge pre-loaded into the tube, that was not shown, that is responsible for blasting it into the air? It would be nice to know and show that, as well as any information or maybe even a shot down inside that tube to see how deep it is, how thick it is, etc. Well done video, really interesting to see how they manually set every one of the little shaped effect balls inside of every shell to get those perfect spherical displays. Really impressive consistency and spacing. If you filmed the second one with both cameras as you did the first night, please add the real scenic view of the successful second display in landscape mode. That weird switch to phone portrait mode kinda ruins it. Thanks for the work and for sharing this.

@@TheKnut i know... seems someone still gave no fucks about this very important part... it's like designing a 9mm round for a .45 ACP pistol and wonder about horrible ballistics
@mycroft165 жыл бұрын
@@Blei1986 The shell should ALWAYS be a tiny bit smaller than the inner diameter of the mortar. A 2" mortar would fit a 1 5/8" shell. Scale that 3/8" gap up to something 3" wide and you have the exact gap they have between shell and inner diameter of the mortar. There is a reason for this. Guns vent gas so that they don't blow the barrel up. Much of the gas goes to accelerating the bullet out the front, but any excess needs a place to go. The same applies for mortars, but they vent out the front to keep them as simple as possible. That little gap around the shell allows for excess over-pressure to vent and not blow the mortar up while still propelling the shell. With a gun a gap would make rifling impossible, so forward venting around the bullet is not possible. But with a firework shell, perfect ballistics is not required. It just needs to go more or straight up.

@nuiun04954 жыл бұрын
If something stands the test of time, be it a religion, a philosophy, or a civilization - that thing thus earns the right to continue existing. Take the shark, for example. It hasn't needed to "evolve" because it's already the best at what it does. However, if a tyrant dictator uses his power and wealth to fund scientists to figure out a method of extending his lifespan to 500 years... he should not be allowed to rule with an iron fist for that long.

As a fellow Pyro, in my experience thats the the best you can do in protection without 1 up-ing to a EOD suit. So cotton clothes, a helmet, glasses, gloves and boots gives you the best mobility and protection you can get, setting up a show is a long process and you cant be in a suit all that time its better to be set up to run (thats why you see the makers just not wearing anything) these are dangerous explosives, the main reason for base PPE is protection against small stuff like small shrapnel and Stars/peonies/fire during the shoot. If sparks hit the fan the training is to run, as fast as you can.

I used to live in Steamboat Springs, CO USA. There is a fireworks maker who made a 2500 LB Firework and set it off over the smaller ski mountain in town. It's not as impressive looking as this one by any means but it is HUGE. They did one before in 2016 that was way better. This one tho in Japan is absolutely beautiful and you can tell it was made with skill and love. Very amazing!
