Test drove both, x50 feels solid to drive while having ample space. X70 feels like im driving a boat and feels abit claustrophobic because of the chunky centre console. X50 is definitely the better choice 🥲

I'm a x70 CBU user for 1year and my car did 20k of mileage, these are the problems arises 1. The steering always steer to the left from , what proton did was an alignment everytime I raise this issue, the problem still there. 2. My car gear change when I flaw the throttle very harsh and scary, this happens the 4th month when I brought the car for a long drive to Cameron. 3. 2nd hard gear change is from way down from genting it just drop very harshly from 6th to 4th suddenly then it ran smoothly. 4. 3rd hard gear change when it was on Adaptive Cruise Control from malacca when a car comes in front it suddenly dropped very harshly. 5. My car always wobbles/vibrate when the speed 50kmh -80kmh after that speed it rides smoothy. 6. My car always wobbles/vibrate when climb uphill 70kmh- 100kmh. This is even happens either I drive the car or its on Adaptive Cruise Control. 7. Already two time I address this issue to proton, proton said there is software update for CBU models which is latest software is 005 and my model was running on 000 software update. Proton didn't even notify us until my 3rd service, only when the problem arise they update the software. 8. Proton said they need to open my gearbox to check why it wobbles/vibrate. How sure this will be solved, my car is just 1 year old and I'm not confident with what they going to do. I just don't want another new problem arise from this issue. 9. I'm just not happy on how proton is handling this issue, is this how they solve issue, everytime I need to send the car for the whole day and they problem still there. 10.This is really not helpful, my time and my money to send the car and had to take grab to work. 11. Even my friends warn me to not buy x70 when it launch, I bought it on the confident that they might have improved and I would like to support proton. 12. To all x70 CBU owners kindly go to service center and update your TCU software. 13. Very seldom I use this car and it gives this kind of problems, my daily drive myvi is even better and I had no issues even though it has done 160k km. 14. I was even thinking of buying x50, after all this matter with x70 I have no confidence with next proton cars. 15. Hopefully KZbin reviewers can help me on this matter to add in your reviews because before buying anything we always trust your reviews before buying new cars.

At the moment, I thought to go with Mini Countryman, but looking at the x50 and x70 reviews and the price, this seems a better choice, plus I can save almost double the price. I've chosen x70 over x50, I've been driving x50 awhile in my friend's car, it's fast and feel sporty. Handling is good. Touring around city without any issue but as for the highway when you speed I've 100km/h, it has the whistle wind noise. As for the x70, I only test drive it in city area, the turning when over 30km/h can feel the car moving to one side but the rear passenger wouldn't fall over to the other side because of the sudden turning. As for the speed, there's not much different since it's not a sport car and as long as it provides you safety and comfort in my opinion. I'm 5ft 10 and I needed to adjust my seat to very front 😅

I’m a bit annoyed by proton service centres, I’ve been going to the one in cyberjaya, almost 3 times for the same issue, my steering wheel in my 2020 proton saga keeps vibrating badly, they said they tuned it better every time and didn’t really do much. My point being, I don’t think the proton service centres and technicians are skilled enough to take care and maintain these modern “Geely” vehicles

I know the Flagship variant is the go-to but it would be nice to see the review for the more affordable variants of the X50 especially the standard and executive, I think those 2 are very good value for its price plus at that price, those variants coincidentally compete against few of the newly launched Japanese B segment sedans like City, Almera, Vios FL. I bet many cross shopping between these cars as they sit in very similar price range. Thanks :D

Hey Adrian, watched all your X50 reviews and wanted to ask if you think Civic FC TCP is a better alternative for a young family car? Putting aside the RM30k difference, is the car handling, lower ride height, paddle shifters and Apple Carplay+Android Auto and reliability of Honda cars worth it? Usage will be Klang Valley driving + monthly drive to Penang to visit family. Also, it's tiring to wait for X50 for more than 2-3 months with no updates on the ETA!
