I’ve never heard of the Kondratiev cycle but it seems like a logical explanation of human behaviour. This lines up with the fourth turning and once in a century war and shift of powers. It’s so obvious to see one you know what to look for. Scary times ahead

Fred is amazing. The content here is awesome - gems every minute. However why does he have a blind spot about Elon Musk? He talks as though Mars is somewhere to escape the climate crisis to, and that Musk has become the richest person on the planet from Twitter (which actually is what made him not the richest..). Neither of those things is true nor aligned with Musk's aims. It is true that Musk is very right wing and anti-woke. That's a good reason to not like him, but not liking someone doesn't mean that you should let yourself spout ignorant fictions, we've got enough politicians doing that.

I think David is right on a lot. What I will say is that I personally don’t like the whole ‘underclass’ stuff. I know he said he’s just ‘observing’ but the idea of an underclass definitely gives the impression of supremacy ideas which I don’t think is a good idea to have in a society as David touches on when he talks about how detrimental narcissism is to a society. I’ll be honest I don’t know much about Obama’s presidency - and given how much David is right about - I would have to defer to him. However - by David’s own theories, Obama is lateral (he’s left handed). So is it the case that it doesn’t matter if you’re lateral if you’re of a ‘low class’ or ‘underclass’? Is underclass just a racial classification or it’s an economic one? Does Sunak fit into it? The whole thing leaves me with a lot of questions. Again, I like David’s work, it’s clearly ahead of its time but i can’t pretend that part doesn’t bother me.
