I have to say fair play to Alan, he's got patience. I love ya Cody but you have a dominant personality and Alan is obviously an intelligent man, he does very well to play second fiddle even though he knows his stuff too, which is fair enough considering this is your channel. You're a good combo.

***COOK KIT TIP*** It appears the cup WS. is using is the snow peak 600 and does not fit the isobutane canister. The Snow Peak Trek 700 will fit the 100g canister inside with room to spare for a micro stove such as their LiteMax or GigaPower stoves. Other bonuses are that it comes with a lid and the hot lips are still usable.

Thank you. I am most impressed by the high-level of integrity of character that you demonstrate throughout all of your videos. In this video you only further impart this fact by the company that you keep as it is obvious that your friend is also a man of solid character. I asked my wife to watch this this video with me so that I could remark to her that these are the type of men (people) that I wish would roam the Earth in abundance. The dynamic that you share with each other in this video is a delight to watch. Thank you, again. Keep safe.

A lot of this is the same my Norwegian red cross/mountain rescue/emergency response friends carry! Also, incidentally, a lot of them are women, it's a pretty even balance - so if there are any fellow women watching this video and thinking this kind of thing is interesting, I recommend getting involved with the Red Cross. Less lumberjacking, but you still get to be badass and save lives in the wild.

The Navy uses the same system as your "task books" but we call them P.Q.S. or Personnel Qualification Standard, or JQR, Job Qualification Requirement. There are thousands of them, there's a PQS for everything, some guys have even facetiously made PQS for relieving ones' self, you can find it a la google.

Flip that gas canister around and it should fit in that titanium cup. I have the same set up and very serious about my coffee as well! It probably won't sit flush with the stove in but it is designed to fit.
@christobacon1
@christobacon1 8 жыл бұрын
hey cody check out the jetboil line of stove its similar tou the one you have but the canister fits in the cup and the stove locks to the cup for heating, I can't keep count of the number of times I almost knock over my stove... you can also have a coffee press (serious about your coffee ;) ) stored in the cup with a pan adapter, a feet thing to stabilize the stove even more, a suspension system so you can hang the stove. not to mention that the lid has a bunch of holes to drain water and a hole to take sip of coffee or even soup but, the best is that there's a heat conservation sleeve (cold coffee is the worst) and you can have that sleeve in your favourite shirt pattern ;)

Just finished watching your entire War Bag series of vids. Great info. One suggestion for bug repellent... Have you tried fresh garlic. It may sound funny but you can pack a few cloves in a sandwich ziploc bag, you cut off about a 2mm/3-4 fingernail thick piece and swallow like a pill 2-3 times a day. Flies, mosquitos, chiggers, black flies, biting gnats - they all hate it. With a heavy sweat load you may need to go a bit heavier on the dosing, and you have to experiment a bit to see how much is right for you, but it works real well. Even tics don't like it. Also, for more immediate needs, cut off your dose "pill", swallow, and then rub the fresh cut stub over exposed skin and on clothes until your sweating enough to keep the critters away. Simply cut off the "dirty" rubbed stub and continue to eat off that clove or use separate cloves for oral vs. topical applications. This was one of those military tricks I picked up years ago and it works great. Maybe not on everything and always... But, if it adds a bit of kick so you use less DEET, and get the same or enhanced, non-toxic, non-caustic, effects... Again, great job and thanks for sharing so many great vids.
