Was it? I've never been sure whether the plan was always for this to happen just before the finals, both for the negativity AND to get Torchwick and Neo on the battleship.

It was always my impression that was still supposed to be done separately and before the big attack on beacon. All of the dust robberies were done to do two things. 1) get dust for their bombs, and 2) make Vale look dangerous and unstable, which is what drew Ironwood out and made him bring him and all his troops to Vale. The grimm attack via the train was staged to make Ozpin look ineffective in dealing with the grim which set up Ironwood being made the head of security and made it so that his troops and more importantly his robots were ALL OVER the place, so that when the attack happened and they got hacked, they'd be in prime position. Also it set up getting Torchwick on one of the ships, so that he could attack it from the inside. None of that would have been able to have been accomplished if the train attack was done at the same time as the main Battle of Beacon.

Literally the first thing that is said about grimms is that they are heartless creatures that doesn't even needs to eat, they choose to, just ot have another way of killing humans, they are not interested in fight animals or other grimm, their whole purpose is to kill humans, they can't be tamed or befriended, later in the series their originin may be told, and then you may will understand their killer nature.

You seriously need to stop talking over the show; if you're talking you're not listening, and if you're not listening you're not comprehending. If you're not comprehending you're not reacting, you're just making stuff up, convincing yourself that what you imagined the plot is, is actually what the plot is, and then you're confused about what's happening when the real plot takes a turn. Or you're confused when something happens that was discussed earlier but you were too busy trying to outsmart the writers instead of just letting them tell you a story. I don't mind the pausing, that's a good thing, but rewind a bit so you can actually hear the characters answering the questions you're asking in the middle of their answer.
