During the old testament satan was allowed to visit god and heaven attacking prophets and saints . Evident in the book of job . Once christ had sacrificed himself for us michael and his angels fought satan and his angels casting them to the earth pit. The scene from the passion of christ were satan is damned into that pit screaming is the aftermath of that spiritual battle
