Pretty sure we helped Afghanistan take over the opium trade for a few decades too, so that did well to kill 10's of thousands ppl per year in the US alone. Now the US current admin is letting China & Mexican cartels flood their southern border with fentanyl killing 110k per year US alone. Where is it our next war will be & who with? Yeah they prep this shit years in advance & we are sadly all just pawns to be used up for their greater agenda. Don't get me wrong I'm not against any of our soldiers that went over there & kept their honour intact, but the fact we had ppl over there shooting pet dogs that were chained up, shooting pow's & unarmed civilians etc. Our guys needed to remember; we had invaded their country & for very little reason too, you might say even flimsier than WMDs in Iraq. I still think any soldier that has served with dignity should still be proud of their service at the end of the day you were there for you fellow soldier to keep them safe & bring them home alive. Any soldier that wasn't able to be bought home alive I hope can rest easy now in a better world.

Our politicians have failed our serving and past members for decades. They have no idea what it takes to put your life on the line to defend this great nation and our people. They've never left the comfort of political life in Canberra and served. Most don't do it for medals or glory. They do it because they love this country, they believe in what it has stood for, and they do it because many of us (like me) want to honour our ancestors (in my case my grandfather, his brother who died in France, and my father) who sacrificed so much to give us the life that many take for granted in this country. The fact that no one has been held to account in the ABC for this disgraceful conduct, is both an indictment on the ABC as well as our political elite. Shame on you!
