This moment, to me as a young man watching this when I was young, made the movie for me. This, full circle, after being through hell and back, to be reunited was THE most heartbreaking, and simultaneously heart lifting moment ever. Epic film.

I remember, when this movie just came out; in a well circulated newspaper of my country I went through a published interview of one of the reputed and veteran Hollywood film critic(pardon me as I can't recall his name at present). He seemed to be a bit despised and dissatisfied with this movie citing a number of unworthy things and lacunae the movie possessed.Those were the days I was not much habituated with Hollywood movie reviews.However, I then watched the movie. Mr.Speilberg never has failed to amaze me(not amuse, he is that kind of director,whose movies are more for amazing the spectators compared to the contents of amusement).In this movie too ,I wasn't much disappointed with the story.It tells the tale- of two companions,whose paths got diverged and at the end they came back to each other.Heart warming moments, spectacular cinematography and the backdrop of the harshness of the war,it is good in a lot of aspects.Neither I am a critic ,nor I am ambitious to become one; and as an ordinary spectator with thrist for good movies, I would say I have been moved by this movie. This movie somehow reminds me of another movie. In my country, a legendary filmmaker of bygone era,in far '70s, did make a movie( in my mother tongue) in which a simmilar kind of bonding was shown- between a woman and ....no it was not any living creature,it was just a musical instrument,known as 'harmonium'. But the themes in these two movies seem at least to me simmilar in the way that both are about a person and the bond the person develops with his/her most beloved belonging(living or inanimate) and in both after a long period of separation, the person finally once again meets with that 'beloved' in a happy reunion. At the end,it's all about love. Thank you all.

Probably the most powerful form of love is for those who are completely innocent creatures like babies and animals, such that you would fling yourself into the fire to save them ❤ I wish I saw this movie at the theater instead of home, watching everybody cry would have been funny but also nice.

I'm an oldish Brit and when I was young I used to work with horses. British army were the worst in the world with horses, broke em at 1,worked em hard at 2,when still really big foals, worked em to death by 5 years old then ate em, which is like a taboo to us Brits, we don't eat em.
@monaghanfan183 жыл бұрын
That's so sad. :( I'm a writer and I've read a lot of history from WW1 and am fascinated by it, especially because the history is almost forgotten. The horses' treatment was definitely one of the most heartbreaking elements.
