Imagine a modern-day built Mark 4/5 where everything has been upgraded to a level that it would be the true warrior in the fields. Just imagine a stronger engine, tracks designed with some suspension and capable of going much faster (say 15mph for the sakes of tanks), more powerful guns, thicker armor, the whole 9 yards. And suddenly send it back to its birth years and witness the true shock of the unstoppable tank. A machine that itself would be able to last even up to WW2 until something at that time would be strong enough to take it out.
@TheCarDemotic4 жыл бұрын
Thicker armor? Against any modern day anti tank weapon, thicker armor isn’t the answer. Composite and space armor is what you want. In all seriousness though it wouldn’t perform as well as you would think. There is a reason why all modern tanks are designed in the same way, it’s because it’s the most practical and effective design we can possibly make.

@Tiger3329 жыл бұрын
There was a sealed bulkhead between the engine and the crew compartment, as we used a hydraulic power unit powered by a 4 cylinder engine it was much more compact than the original power pack from WWI.

UMMM.....Those ww1 tanks had a gasoline powered drivetrain with drive shafts, gear boxes and final drives. The one shown in this video is completely different not to mention it's a Catapillar diesel. You can seeThe (hydraulic)hydrostatic drives with planetary reduction final drives. It uses high pressure hydraulic fluid to smoothly operate the tracks. The track chains, rollers and track tensioner are all completely modern designs.
