During the air phase, you should have Show Air Groups and No Fly Info turned on. That way you would know why some of your air superiority missions actually have no assigned aircraft.

@@m60a3tts2 I do have air groups showing, no? The Show AOGs button is on, and you can see them a few seconds prior. (Is there another option I should know about?) As for groups being assigned, I thought auto-assign would take care of that for me. It usually seems to work, at least. If you know of a good guide for this, though, let me know - the air war has always been one part I've had trouble wrapping my head around in detail.

@@Alsadius If you look at the box you created on the map, it says Auto 0. The AI has no valid aircraft units for it to select. To understand why this is, you look at the details of the air directive. At the bottom of that box, there are these options to check boxes for Show Air groups and No Fly Info. If you check those boxes, you are going to see those fighters you thought were available in fact are out of range.

@@m60a3tts2 Ah, that makes sense. I had a vague sense of that, but I should really pay more attention to it when I play. I've got the air phase of turn 3 already recorded, but I'll start looking at this more on turn 4. Thanks!

A conservative opening, but this has the advantage of treating your poor Germans quite well. You should capitalize on this and make a cautious advance that identifies where the Soviets send their majority of forces. That being said, they will get stronger, and the benchmark is less than ~4mil on map I think? Depends on how good your opponent is, good luck!
