Some CO's care but most do not,a high ranking Police Son came back in a zinc coffin his mother wanted to see her son's body,so against orders the coffin was opened all there was body parts later it transpired that the son had been incinerated in his tank and the CO had decided to send other body parts from others,the father turned to drink and was removed from duty.

On arriving at my base, I received a military haircut, got my ID, company and barracks. The following day I was given my overall, boots, web belt and steel hat. Two weeks into basics we received our rifles and magazines. Three months later with basics complete and having undergone PT, drilling, inspections, formation training, military law and hundreds of hours of lectures we had a week’s leave. Returning to base we were selected for specialisations where some went to infantry, others to signals, reconnaissance etc. Three months of specialised 2nd phase training and only then we were considered to be the wettest of new recruits. These poor bastards!

My husband's father served in the 🇺🇸 US Marine Corps (my husband is American) and my brother enlisted in the 🇳🇿 NZ Army. In both the US and NZ militaries, you are prohibited from using your own equipment or wearing anything which is not issued by the military. This is because Western militaries provide you the gear, uniforms and equipment you'd need to wear, and you can't wear anything that you've bought yourself.

This is actually not true. While the US will offer you gear, and are obligated to do so, you can actually get better things if you want them. You can buy better boots and socks or a different rucksack which will save your feet and back, and things of that nature which the US military will acknowledge as being a reasonable purchase that improves your kit as a soldier. The US will provide you the tools to complete the mission, but you won't be doing them with any kind of luxurious feel.

For example, in Russia there are about 6.2 million micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises in Russia, most of them being micro-firms (41%) and individual entrepreneurs (55 %). They account for approximately 20% of Russia's GDP and employ over 25 million Russians. This mobilization will gut 80 - 90 percentage of these businesses and further reduce Russia's GDP by a far greater degree vs. Sanctions from the West. But when you're looking at a Dictator like Putin he doesn't care or what I think he ain't that smart. As I mentioned before, win or lose Putin's Russia is toast!

To be fair, I've heard it's common for US soldiers to buy at least some of their own kit to replace the lower quality US army issue. Case in point are bullet proof vests or boots. This of course is all against US army regulations, but as long as it's not obvious, commanders turn a blind eye to it all.

We can create a boom if we up recycles and start our own subscriptions on the side. Would be neat if we took this as a opportunity to fill 3 day and 7 packs that can main as diastor relief packs of what we keep in our closets, rededicate what's set to be waste resources into things like flushable hand filters and get people familar with common day to day use advanced kits (like shelter building, industrial sanitation, cooperation, common first aid, and confirming evac plans to prevent abuses or panics) Would lighten up future linguistic struggles if Ruzzia ever thinks it's ready to push us, increasing production capacity without draining the main pool
