The mainstream media uncritically amplified the Bush regime's WMD lie? Democracy Now is too kind. The mainstream media were accomplices in the fraud on the people. The UN weapons inspector (that's your Scott Ritter way back then) said there were no WMD in Iraq. So why should the mainstream media believe the Bush regime, when it had produced zero evidence? Sure, Colin Powell had waved a test tube of white powder and claimed it was some biological WMD. If it were so, he wouldn't have held it in his hands and waved it about in a hall full of people. What if he dropped it and the glass broke? People in the Global South didn't believe the WMD bullshit, so why should the high civilization of the perfumed garden in the west believe the naked lie? No, the mainstream media were not merely uncritical. They were accomplice fraudsters.

The vast majority of the race, whether savage or civilized, are secretly kind-hearted and shrink from inflicting pain, but in the presence of the aggressive and pitiless minority they don't dare to assert themselves. Think of it! One kind-hearted creature spies upon another, and sees to it that he loyally helps in iniquities which revolt both of them." -Mysterious Stranger

"Still, it is true, lamb," said Satan. "Look at you in war-what mutton you are, and how ridiculous!" "In war? How?" "There has never been a just one, never an honorable one-on the part of the instigator of the war. I can see a million years ahead, and this rule will never change in so many as half a dozen instances. The loud little handful-as usual-will shout for the war. The pulpit will-warily and cautiously-object-at first; the great, big, dull bulk of the nation will rub its sleepy eyes and try to make out why there should be a war, and will say, earnestly and indignantly, "It is unjust and dishonorable, and there is no necessity for it." Then the handful will shout louder. A few fair men on the other side will argue and reason against the war with speech and pen, and at first will have a hearing and be applauded; but it will not last long; those others will outshout them, and presently the anti-war audiences will thin out and lose popularity. Before long you will see this curious thing: the speakers stoned from the platform, and free speech strangled by hordes of furious men who in their secret hearts are still at one with those stoned speakers-as earlier-but do not dare to say so. And now the whole nation-pulpit and all-will take up the war-cry, and shout itself hoarse, and mob any honest man who ventures to open his mouth; and presently such mouths will cease to open. Next the statesmen will invent cheap lies, putting the blame upon the nation that is attacked, and every man will be glad of those conscience-soothing falsities, and will diligently study them, and refuse to examine any refutations of them; and thus he will by and by convince himself that the war is just, and will thank God for the better sleep he enjoys after this process of grotesque self-deception." - Mark Twain, The Mysterious Stranger

The outlines of that agreement was along the lines of Minsk 2 plus neutrality for Ukraine as far as NATO goes. Why was it rejected in my opinion, because the war offered a chance for the US's real strategic goals... To degrade Russia at least militarily and best of all, using Ukrainian lives. Russia isn't going to back off because they are taking a step they warned about and were ignored for twenty years. The US manufactured consent for Iraq in barely a year

When will the people of the USA start voting for politicians who do not need diapers?

I do wonder whether the ppl of the USA can vote with common sense. I think many ppl lost their critical thinking skills. It appears ppl are so divided that some will never vote Republican as a Democrat and it doesn't matter what candidate is chosen for that party. Even after the two years of Biden and seeing the blunders, mental issues, rise of inflation, vast homelessness, all time high addictive drug usage, record number of illegal immigration from Mexican border and these people will still vote for him for another 4 years in 2024. This administration prefers to pander to the woke initiative and Black Lives Matter. Like, wow. Even Kamala Harris is a laughing stock to people abroad yet I think many Americans can't see it. What has she or the first lady done for this country? The USA is a declining power. It's imploding culturally within and indicators suggest, economically.

If NATO countries had fired the first round of artillery, middle strikes, or of fighter bomber and tank column attacks from Belarus in the North, or from the Russian Federation from the East and Southern occupied Ukraine in the CRIMEA, I might have agreed with your flawed analogy. I, too, think that this horrible, bloody war was totally unnecessary and also totally avoidable from all sides, since the Ukraine is fighting a existential battle to secure it's very survival, but Russia is fighting to subdue and conquer its former blood relative Slavic nation that it allegedly fears has been somehow converted to a Nazi state that aims at destroying their Russian cousins! Too bad the pro-Putin tribe in the USA and in the third world do not clearly see that Putin has had political and economic megalomaniacall dreams of expanding his huge super sized country, the largest on earth, to recover the lost empire and glory of the long deceased Russian Soviet Socialist Union that existed from 1922 until 1991, and exerted similar expansionist wars against Poland in 1920 and again in 1939 as Hitler's Ribbentrop-Molotov Treaty Ally, against Finland in 1940, and later against Eastern Germany in 1953, Hungary in 1956, Czechoslovakia in 1968, and against Afghanistan in the 1980s, against Georgia in 2006, and against the anti-Assad Rebels in Syria from 2020s on to the present! Sounds like a peaceful neighbor in all these aggressive actions, doesn't it? No doubt the USA has also been rather aggressive in its expansionist era of empire from the "settling of the West" after conquering the Indians and relegating them to territories East of the Mississippi in 1830, with Andrew Jackson's "Indian Removal Ethnic Cleansing by force of the U.S. Military, and the "Manifest Destiny Mexican - American War" that brought in California, Texas, and 48% of Mexico's territory into the American Union! The Great American Civil War, 1862 - 1865, slowed down and almost ended that expansion, except the purchase of Alaska from Russia in1867, until the Spanish-American War brought us more colonies and territories - the Philippines, Cuba, Puerto-Rico in 1898, followed by the forced annexation of Hawaii in the late 19th Century, as the imperial American Power was crowned by Teddy Roosevelt's promoting Panama's Independence and, as a crucial benefit to our Coast to Coast American Continental power the building of the Panama Canal that was under total American control until relatively recent times!
