Just because it can destroy a plant only makes it strong in one way not strong in the real way. That's just a reference to the song I mainly mean if it does anything it's going to be pretty slow. It would make the most thematic sense as both a punch in the face to Jasper, physically and metaphorically, and show how far Lapis has come from that abusive relationship. From what I understand the strength of a fusion depends on the Gems that go into it. Jasper & Lapis Lazuli were both quite strong on their own, allowing for their fusion to be enough to rival Alexandrite. Steven didn't join to become Obsidian until he was a powerful leader & very close to each of the Crystal Gems. Garnet is an almost perfect fusion with Ruby & Sapphire's individual wills fading away to become Garnet's will, which is how she was overpowering Jasper. An unstable fusion generally will have the Gems it consists of not being of 1 mind. When Malachite, Jasper & Lapis could only agree to stay fused with Lapis doing everything she could to keep control of Malachite. This fusion became increasingly more stable as the 2 gems began to have their thoughts fuse. Individual Gems start to lose themselves to the Fusion itself in time, with Garnet & Amethyst starting to lose themselves to their power as Sugulite.

I think my favorite fusion design-wise is the Aquamarine-Ruby looking thing. She has six limbs and resembles even more like a butterfly. Butterflies, especially in the episode Mindful Education, represent malignant thoughts. What else spreads malignant thoughts? Toxic people. So I guess the fusion represents a team-up of toxic people. I like the red-blue fusion for that reason exactly.

What if spinel and Steven fused? Hmm... Well first we need a gem name, we need something colourful yet dark, something that looks fun and unique, what about strawberry quartz. (If you don’t have a clue what I’m talking about look up strawberry quartz on google). Now we need an ability/weapon and a personality. Let’s start with the “weapon possibility” (if you will), well Steven has a shield and bubbles, spinel has elasticity powers (her rejuvenater is gem tech, not her weapon). A weapon could be a bouncy ball/s that expand and retract at will (design is up to you). The “ability possibility” probably just spinels elasticity powers and Stevens healing powers, that’s it. Moving onto “Strawberry quartz” personality, hmmm... it needs to be juvenile, funny and cancerous hmmm... what’s something that’s all three of those Combined hmmm... oh I got it M E M E S ! Hear me out, WHAT IF, all or most of the HOMEWORLD gems fuse, Turing into a HUGE gem, maybe with white diamond in there. And the only REAL way to destroy it, would be to re awaken the cluster. Now the cluster is in a bubble, and its been shown that gems can "teleport" bubbles, so steven might have to move the cluster into space to fight the giant mega fusions

This could be an idea for a new show, a homeworld rebellion. No steven, non of the main cast of gems (other then the diamonds), just all new characters, and maybe some of the side characters we saw during the original run of the show that we only saw a few times and never heard from again. Or maybe even a short series like future, that took place before the birth of steven, so it can flesh out the lore of the show a lot more. Just stuff with less humans.
