You made a 15 episode video series in which you play a two-player board-game with yourself and, in the process, enthralled many people including myself with the fantastic narration, explanation, and raw gameplay to such an extent that I actually stayed to the end and felt genuinely devastated by the tragic conclusion. As others have said, I originally planned to watch only the first episode, as is what I end up doing with almost all episodic play-thrus. But yours turned out to be like a TV show... always looking forward to the next episode to see how things would turn out! ... So I watched each one, every morning while eating breakfast, for two weeks straight. (I gave in and watched two episodes on Saturday)! Next best thing to watching the movies.

Brilliant series. Bit late to the party. KZbin showed me ShutupandSitdown review of game. I was more intrigued so looked for tutorials and they were all very dry and hard to take information in. Yours was perfect style and I watched entire story. Thanks for the clear guide and run through. Not seen your other videos of other board games yet but I’ve now subscribed as I am hoping for similar treatment from those games. In meantime I’ve now bought this one :D

Great series. I watch these videos before every game as it only gets to the table two or three times a year. Great rules refresher. If you have the expansions I’d love to see you do an updated series with them, as there is very little on the Internet for them, playthrough-wise.

FANTASTIC playthtough!! IMO You've seamlessly combined at least three aspects of these clips: a) to teach most of the game's rules, b) give the overall look & feel of the game, c) intruduce vievers to some basic strategies* * - one just need to remember that some of the actions were played purely for the sake of a) :) Great job! Probably I've never been so engaged in a playthrough. This game is just on another level... especially for LotR fans

This really helped me cement confidence in how to play the game. There's a basic 'risk' type game but then you add in the corruption, special dice, special cards and hunt mechanics and they can all slightly interact with each other so its lots of wheels within wheels.

Just finished watching all the WotR vids, fantastic! Been playing Star Wars: Rebellion recently which led me to this, and War of the Ring honestly seems like a deeper and more story-driven experience (helped out by the fact that it doesn't take place over an entire galaxy, however). Excellent tutorial. Editing very good. A great learning aid for a complex game. I especially enjoyed the sound, from your finger tapping the cards as you point them out, to the the soft slap of the cards being placed on the board, and all the other sounds that help immerse the viewer into a board game experience. The ambience is superb. The soothing timber of the narration compliments the tension of the game's development. Very well done. Thank you.

Disappointed... the Free peoples were so close! ;) Great series... So it seems that the challenge in War of the Ring is really for the Free peoples players. They're permanently outnumbered, and it's comparatively easy for the ring bearer to take corruption damage. Whereas, it seems that in Battle of the Five Armies, the challenge is perhaps more on the side of the Shadow player, since in that game the Free Peoples have the benefit of time on their side. Looking forward to seing that series (Battle of Five Armies) continue on as well.

I think it is very very balanced. It is a game about the Ring. When you get into Mordor with the RIng it is the final act and that is where the game is decided. Often very close to Mount Doom... So even if you are not doing well early on you can still make it in that last desperate the Ring enters Mordor part. I HIGHLY recoomend this game. It is really good and cathes much of the theme from the bokks well. Its only - is that the playing time is long.
