In this video, Pat and Glai will be reenacting the events of the Lord of the Rings through a number of decks of cards. A Shadow has fallen over Middle Earth and the fate of the world is in the hands of a few Free Peoples who have embarked on a quest to take the One Ring to Mordor and cast it into the fires of Mount Doom. However, the armies of The Witch King and Saruman have amassed and so time is short as they try to stamp out any resistance and plunge the world into darkness.

Best teach and playthrough I have seen! I am normally the rules teacher for my play groups, so I normally play a round or two solo before I teach. Due to the four distinct decks this game has, it has been been hard to learn. Thank you so much!

Great video! Without a doubt the best teach and playthrough on KZbin. It captures the mechanics and twists and turns the came may take very well. Good strategies here. As far as I can tell there is one mistake at the 58:30 mark where Glai uses Gwahir to take Gandalf into hand, but takes him from the draw pile instead of the cycle pile.

Greetings from Serbia, I bought this game today and I have a question for you. When I play a card in reserve, does its ability apply immediately, the next round, or only in a new round?

Hello Nemanja! I hope all is well there in Serbia! As regards your question, the ability on cards in reserve applies immediately. The only thing you have to wait for is if you play a character or an army into reserve. You may not move them into a battleground or onto a path that same round, so you must wait for the next round to do that. Hope this helps!

Can you use the Palanthir after you just put it on the same round ?

Hi Derek. Yes, you can use items immediately. The only thing you cannot do in the same round is move a character or an army from the reserve to a battleground or path. Hope this helps!

Excellent video!! I just bought this game yesterday myself. Couple of mistakes I spotted: I think Aragorn was played without cycling a card. The Witch King player gets to draw cards (at one point even 7) and play 2 armies (or 2 nazguls) but it also says to forsake one of the drawn cards, right? I think all the rest got just cycled. In Path 8 when Frodo is cycled, he has the elven cloak so all the items should get cycled too, not eliminated, right?
