Dumb it may be; however, I'll still be seeing it tomorrow! 😆 As alwasys, I appreciate your warnings!

Too bad they don't identify themselves in the video but the fellow in the passenger seat said that fantasy had a lot more creativity before Tolkien codified it. The only problem is the Hobbit was published in 1937 and Lord of the Rings in 1954 and there was no such genre as fantasy fiction before he accidentally created it. I also remember growing up in the 60s and 70s there was next to no fantasy books to read except Tolkien, CS Lewis and Robert E. Howard. It was only in the 1980s with Star Wars being a HUGE hit we got more fantasy movies like Conan the Barbarian and Excalibur and fantasy book genre really, really took off with authors like Terry Brooks, Raymond Fiest,Tad Williams and David Eddings who copied Tolkien's template more and sometimes less many decades later after Tolkien. The problem is when Tolkien's intricate works become pop culturefied they become watered down and generic fantasy tropes which are copied in many other places. So I do see the problem the fellow is referring too. I would recommend to go back and read his books and prose and you may fall in love with the Middle Earth universe when it is the source material written by the creator not modern day plagiarists.
