Another great battle report Martin, only a couple of problems I can see. First is, you have to throw better dice, second is you have to learn to win. Out of seven games with Haley and this one you've lost them all. Only joking, you produce and video the best games and scenarios I've seen for a long time. It's all about enjoying what your doing, and not really about winning. Well done Martin.

@@7thson726 Aren't cavalry allowed to counter-charge if charged? (as long as they are not shaken). I only saw a counter-charge on the last melee with the large unit of knights. It is one of the main ways that Hail Caesar discourages infantry charging cavalry. Counter-Charging would have made a big difference to the game.

Great game. What would have happened if the Yorkist reinforcements hadn't turned up? If the Yorkist side had no troops on the table could or would the Yorkist reinforcements have appeared or would it just be assumed that the cart continued to go along and off the table unhindered? Also could the Lancastrians have shifted cavalry to the Yorkist edge of the table and prevent their reinforcements coming on?

@7thson7264 жыл бұрын

@7thson7264 жыл бұрын
Cheers 👍😀 From what I've read i understa d that this would be the soze of a NMTB game, if you had all the models we used at the same time. I believe its designed for 6 x 4 play as well as fhis is the most common max size of board people can manage 👍

I would like to try this scenario for upcoming campaign. You wouldn't happen to have an Order of Battle for it ?
@7thson7262 жыл бұрын
I believe we went with 2 commanders per side one with a slightly larger force than the other. So on my side the cavarly force was 3 or 4 units strong and the reserve force was 5 or 6. If you would like i can break it down even further. The thrust of the game was for one player to hold out against the odds while reinforcements arrived and get the wagon moving 👍

If your looking for a good variety of troops id get a box of WOTR infantry (bill and bow), a box of foot knights and either a box of light cav or heavy cav and a metal commander pack . That would give you just over a hundred minis, a decent size army and would cost about 65 quid from Perry. Pleases abother oerson is looking into it 👍😁

Well, i use Hail Caesar but you would have to do a little work creating stats for the units as there is no supplement, there are sample stats for all troop types in the rulebook, i.e heavy infantry, light cavalry, genrals etc. i plan on making the ones i use available after a little more tweaking . If you want another good set, check out never mind the billhooks, its a large skirmish / small battle game bases in the wars of the roses 👍

Did you have to modify the rules to play the Wars of the Roses?

Not a great deal in fact i cant think of anything we changed, we added some rules for out commanders to make them more interesting. when we used the cannons in our previous game we just borrowed the black powder rules although we are going to add a misfire table as it was not uncommon for them to blow up😀
@Deep-Red-04 жыл бұрын

Why didn't the light cavalry hit the cart in turn 4? *That* was supposed to be the objective, wasn't it? Destroy the cart and.retreat! Hastings unnecessary. 😠
@7thson7262 жыл бұрын
I had to watch it back as it was so long ago, it was because of the proximity rule, as they were a formed unit they we're obliged to attack that unit infront of them, didn't get enough orders off to clear the pond and got bogged down. As for Hastings, yeah, he may has well not shown up at all, but thats how it goes sometimes, now i would work it slightly differently but this was ages ao, don't think its worth getting that angry over 👍
