Thanks for your support and comments. Considering to take the War of the Austrian Succession before Seven Years War (in chronological order), as the next theme, what are your thoughts?
@makutas-v2612 жыл бұрын
Good. Never saw a youtube history channel who prioritized chronological order before.

A fine idea! Chronological order is rarely a bad plan imo...

Oh, HECK yes. I've legitimately been on tenterhooks! Your style is a delight; inspired by, but not ripping off, that of others, building constructively and making it your own. JUST enough meme jokes and shout-outs, and you go into fascinating details that I (for one) was absolutely unaware of. I support you 100%, congratulate you on making the Spanish Succession interesting and compelling, and can't wait for what comes next!

@@Mechanix.Illustrated (Oh, and don’t take pronunciation complaints too much to heart. Whatever issues your accent might cause, you sound like you’re talking fairly naturally when you narrate, and that’s better than a lot of others can say…)

I just discovered this channel and I loooooooooove it ! History with animation is just the perfect combo. As a french I liked these episodes. I would have just said that a little mention of the famine in 1709 would have been relevant. This famine caused desastrous death in all Europe and especially in France. Maybe mentioning the battle of Poltava that took place in the same year would have been good too. A decisive battle in a huge war called the great northern war.

I'm so happy KZbin recommended this to me. at first I was a bit skeptical since I never heard of you before, but I'm glad I still continued to watch. such good quality, animation and narration. I hope you find more success further in the future and I hope more videos like the 7 years war and such are made. can't wait to watch the war of Austrian succession next!

amazing video. but I would have spent a few words or more on the siege of Turin, because it was one of the very few capitals of Europe that has ever been subjected to a scientifically studied siege and had great international resonance so much so that some historians consider the siege of Turin the event that marks the beginning of the Risorgimento.

This was brilliant. I am glad you are tackling more unknown Wars because I can find barely any small videos on these topic. However you should have done the Nine Years' War (1688-1697) first. I do not mind a break to go back to that War though.

Great videos on the War of the Spanish Succession. A great mixture of content. I also really love your maps! Have you read The Times Atlas of European History? It's an amazing book that really helps put historical events into a geopolitical context. Like your maps do!

The war continued until the 11th of september 1714, when Barcelona fell to the spaniards. And thus, the catalan culture and language were prohibited and repressed for 300 years to come.

Hasburg Spain wasn't a unified country. There was Aragon and there was Castille. The conflict was basically a civil war. In fact Charles took Madrid a couple of times but nobody in Castille want him as a king and had to leave away. Moreover, the territories of the italian peninsula had been part of Aragon for almost 5 centuries. The biggest consequence of the war was creation of spain; from a merely geographic designation to a state nation with a same government.

How glorious a unified Latin empire in Europe would be. All of spain, France, and half of italy under one catholic and latin crown. in a century's time you can easily see it become all of italy, and retake the netherlands. Bavaria could become a much grander southern germany, austria could be deposed as HRE emperor.
