Interesting that it based on 2005's tripod but they're wasn't from Mars... (I would really like to see more improved AI behaviour for this tripod))

im pretty sure the aliens (Martians) are from Mars, it's just the tripods were burried on earth before humans i assume they lived there but used up the resources so they left but placed the fighting machines to make sure they are able to get earth back if a species gained a large intelligence (humans).

I think alien tripod are like ancient oldest technology when they just dig down. i think tripod heads are cylinders they just dug in here for many years ago Unlike Others Hg wells Tripods.
