War on the Sea | Allied Mediterranean Campaign
Hi all, we will be taking a look at pombruv's Early Mediterranean campaign for War on the Sea.
We will command the Allied forces as we look to secure Malta and take control of the Mediterranean from the joint Italian and German Forces!
MOD - VERSION 2.2 pombruv's Atlantic & Mediterranean Campaigns (with Axis player options) steamcommunity...
ABOUT THE MOD
This mod is NOT historically accurate.
If you are looking for a historically accurate mod with all the right ships and planes then you are out of luck I'm afraid. This mod isn't it - and never will be. Think of it as a fictional account based very loosely on actual events, a bit like most Hollywood war movies.
It is just intended to be a bit of fun so that we can spend some time pitting the British against the Italians and Germans with a little bit of USA thrown in later. This is just a series of opportunities to blow stuff up and have lots of battles - and that's it really.
Also, I have only a limited number of ships and planes I have been given permission to use so rather than just have Allied and Axis forces comprising 3 or 4 accurate ships/planes of the correct period, I've bunged them all in together just so you have plenty of things to blow up - and plenty of things to blow other things up with.
So ignore history like I have. Just go: Boom! Crash! Whizz! Brrrrrt! Sploosh! - and have fun for fun's sake. Forget immersion, it's just a game.
But, if you really, really, need historical accuracy then I believe a new more historically accurate Atlantic mod is on the way. There is also a similarly accurate Mediterranean mod in the pipeline too. I recommend you wait for them, I'm sure they will be much better mods anyway :)

While looking through binoculars/periscope is cool and maybe kinda authentic, a look on the map is many times more effective way to control your asets in this game...

27:14 have seen those TORPEDOES?? I guess, even without seeing them you must be aware why the enemy was closing against overwhelming odds, but now you have the confirmation... so hopefully act accordingly??

KM destroyers were big units - almost light cruisers really. They also had (like the RM) ‘Torpedo Boats’ which were more like RN destroyers ie smaller ships.

Please be aware that Wyverns carry double amount of rockets, so where 2 Wyverns are usually enough against a sub, you might want to send 3 Baufighters/simillar... And on commencing the attack against a sub, slight increase in speed might increase the chance to hit sub before diving...

Likely flying entirely to fast to be accurate with the rockets. 350 is the magic number.

34:01 can anyone tell me why german ships have 5/38s?

"Overload enemy"... ahem, better take care that YOU overload enemy base, that lvl.5+5 airbase/port is very strong. so that 8 bombers might not do any dent into it... you NEED to hit it with the strongest possible bombing fleet (which i believe is from Malta, around 18-24 bombers). It then can be attacked by weaker raiding party too, as long as not on max level even weaker raids will probably work... And that neutral (green) base in Greece still staying there as neutral... what are you waiting for?? Even a small fast force (like 2 destroyers) at night, or a sub carrying few commandos, can capture it... it immediatelly starts giving you few more command points, at wery minimum. Also radar coverage immediatelly increases. Or do you wait until enemy captures it???
