1942: The world is at war
The Japanese Empire expands throughout the Pacific where Allied forces attempt to halt its spread. A desperate struggle for control of the Solomon Islands is now underway.
How will you protect your transports as they deliver troops and supplies in the South Pacific? Will you deploy precious aircraft carriers to provide air cover? Do you screen the area with submarines? Or attempt to lure the enemy navy into a decisive surface engagement?

To be fair, a fair amount of his woes are unforced errors on his part, exacerbated greatly by his unwillingness to browse the comments section more than once in a blue moon, or even just quickly Google something he obviously doesn't understand in some cases 😬😕

Aircraft were built by Boeing so had to ground the fleet for a while to make sure canopy doors don't fall off during flight.

Taff, in reference to your belief that your save game is "too far gone". It doesn't work that way, actually. Either the file has corruption or it doesn't. The file isn't really all that large, and the number of places that could be causing this problem aren't all that many. The effort for the fix would be approximately the same regardless of the level of corruption. Your solution of re-launching your carriers was an excellent call --- the internal fix would achieve essentially the same thing, just more directly. And, yes, many of the game's mechanics are controlled by various timers that do indeed reset periodically. Well done!

It just occurred to me that the Imperial Japanese Navy were obviously playing on easy mode when they did this campaign in 1942 as they finished this entire campaign by the end of March with small losses.Taff your patience playing a game that is so unhistorical (from the Allied strength perspective) deserves an ovation.

Just a guess here but the reason you can't launch aircraft at least from the land bases is there is no fuel, supplies and engineering. Great work. Love the channel.

Hey Taff it was discovered that the aircraft bug was a core game issue that was addressed in the latest update, unfortunately this Mod version you are playing is not compatible with that version

For your own enjoyment of this game, just either complete the campaign quickly or just drop this buggy save, update the game and start a new campaign soon. Otherwise good stuff. Keep it coming. 👍

It is possible that the Japanese version of the FAA grounded all flights due to concern over safety.

A bug like that would drive me nuts. Sometimes I wonder if these things are a bug or the game's way of cheating, like the time you (or was it Wolfpack?) had a carrier fleet with air radar, a full CAP up, and clear skies, and the game still spawned a flight of enemy B17s right above the fleet.

It's O 19 not zero I should know as I live close to the USS Cod that gave aid to O-19 in July 1945 by trying to rescue the crew and pulling the stuck sub off the reef with no success. So the Cod sent a torp into her and blew her up so the Japanese couldn't salvage and possibly reuse her. They got a few small pieces of the O-19 in the Cods onboard museum display hall.

Because he had to bomb it into rubble, since he didn't understand how to sneak troops in to his siege there on destroyers under the cover of darkness, so he bombed the hell out of it because he was tired of dealing with all the inevitable air raids as a result 😂🙃

TAFF if you recover aircraft on your CVs just at dusk --- the "recovery" time doesn't start until 5 AM. Seems stupid as they could dhave been refueled and rearmed during the night // OH WELL!! Oh Hell that wasn't it as I watched the video further ???????????????????

Well, he fixed the aircraft bug (well done), but continues to mispronounce even the simplest IJN ship names, even after constant attempts by the fan base telling him how to get them right. Not bothering to learn the ship names is inexcusable for a WWII game channel. I have found myself cringing every time I see he's going to have to pronounce a Japanese ship name(s). No more. Life's too short. Moving on. 😠
