Excessive or infinite reserves for the AI is the one design choice which always makes me really pissy when playing single-player campaigns in games where you're *supposed* to be able to starve the enemy of reserves, since it just destroys an important part of the game, so glad to hear that!

I wish there would be more aircraft for both sides, it's not complete game when there's no PBY Catalinas and H6Ks or H8K floatplanes for long range scouting and ASW missions and could fly at night. Sometimes the Petes and Japanese floatplanes plus the Walrus and Kingfisher are not adequate enough imo.

@@JTelli786 Any WWII naval games or Pacific based games with large combat area are not complete without the long range PBYs and H6Ks. But I guess War on the sea only set in Solomons which granted big area but it still lacks those long range scouts, plus they also need to add land based aircraft like P-38s or the G3Ms etc.

Just island based floatplanes in general, kingfishers from small outposts for ASW, and floatplane zeros (A6M2-N). Japan definitely needs H6Ks and H8Ks to balance against the massive range of b17s, bettys for high tier airfields just dont cut it

@@diegokevin3824 that's the unbalanced part of the game, B-17s range are just too good, the Japanese should have the Emilys or H6Ks to balance the range for scouting, ASW or even torpedo bombing. If not B-17s then they should give players choice what planes they want to have in their airfields, choices for fighters, dbs, tbs and level bombers. Fighters they should let us choose if we want to have wildcats, p-40s, lightnings or p39s. Same goes to level bombers we could choose to have B-17s or B-25s

I like the way, the developers designed the "accuracy" of horizontal bombers. Compare it to the Aichi in the first play-trough. It´s more historically accurate. The dive-bombers were the weapon for surgical strikes in ww ii. Horizontal bombing not so much. Your sinking of the Yamato was imho pure luck. Try to get more airfields and dive bombers (+evtl. carriers). We´ll see.... :)

Would like to see him coming at the target in two squadrons from positions garranteed for one to take it from the stern (1st preferred) or from the bow (2nd preferred). Trading a bomber or two or three for a kill on a heavy cruiser is a good thing. But, getting those carriers and capitol ships will be and are the key to Naval domination, imo.

I recently got war on the sea, and it was pretty fun, i atacked a heavy cruiser with 8 B-17s armed with 2000 pound bombs, it got hit by like 4 and sunk pretty heckin quickly. Then i engaged the rest of the enemy fleet (1 more heavy cruiser, 2 lights and 2 destroyers) with my battleship, two light cruisers and 2 destroyers. I absolutely crushed them but i got torped, luckly only one torp hit my battleship and did minimal demage (one empty compartment destroyed, no other permanent demage on any ship). But becouse of realy anoying controls in battles and all the aircraft you need to be lunching it took me two hours to get what's basicly half an hour worth of YT content. So i returned the game and decided that i'll just continue to watch your vidoes, i'll get all the cool action without having to deal with the anoying controls ;)

@@ala_kysyei_loydy_tietoo6921 well the combat is very fun, even with anoying control, and with enough time you can probably learn/get used to most of them. However you spend at least half the time on the campaign map, lunching scout air craft takes quite a bit of time and you need to have at least a few in the air all the time. Waiting for transports to get somewhere is not very fun either. Also there is a bit of a balance problem. Subs and aircraft (specialy aircraft) used by the player are realy heckin OP, you can probably win the game without getting in to a single surfice fight, but that's no fun. To be honest, idk if its worth buying, the combat is great, specialy ship to ship combat but it takes a while before you can get in to that fight.

Man, I wonder how much range the B-17s would lose with the 4x 1600lbs bomb option, it really is a disgusting amount of bombs! Also love the talk about losing supply so quickly, yet no mention of the equal manpower decrease. I guess it's true what they say about meat being cheap! XD Love the series, please send more!

the bombs form the bombers do splash damage so a near miss still damages the ship just not as much so it wont say you hit the ship but it can still set fires and black out compartments, great series cant wait to see more thanks for the hard work in editing,

B17 are OP when partially manually controlled. Make both squadrons fly in a circle at 6000 feet. Take control of one bomber, design a target and hit the attack button. Now only 3 things to do: 1. Reduce speed for better accuracy close to the target. My preference is 120 kn 2. Bomb load should be the 4x2000 HE Bombs and you should manually release them about one sec. your crosshair passes over target symbol. Normally the bombs are released 1 by 1, but since you gave an attack order, AI wants also to release a bomb right when crossline hits the target symbol. Realising manually at the right time will have the effect to release 2 bombs at the same time with a chance to double hit the target. It's devastating! Sinks heavy cruisers within seconds. 3. Increase to full speed as soon as all bombs are away to get away asap. Let your empty bombers fly towards the end of the engagement zone, take control of the next bomber and repeat until the sea below is a sea of flames. 🔥😁

@@stagle51183 Yes, but you wil have to fly multiple bombing raids if you're gonna hit with only one bomb per B17 to destroy enemy fleets. And you'll have spent about the same time.. I also changed my tactics a bit since i posted this. I now use straight line formation with the greatest or second greatest spacing option between the planes. Try to line up the squadron with multiple ships that are sailing in a convoy, coming from behind them. First bomber attacks the last ship of the line, second targets the second last and so on. You can use your squadron leader to continue adjusting the alignment with the enemy ships after having dropped his bombs. If you're lucky and they don't start evasive manoeuvers, you can hit multiple ships with one sweep. I changed to fully manual flight, no attack order with one twist. I try to release bombs dead center and come in with more than minimal speed, as soon as i release the bombs, i turn down throttle by about 6 knots. This method drops down multiple bombs on the same spot. Try out different methods, there a lot of things you can try out. 😁

Damaging the "sail" can incapacitate a sub in many ways (no periscope, etc) but shouldn't sink them unless the inner hatch is gone.

fire at will should be disabled by default, and you should be able to capture enemy ships with heavy damage and outnumbered even if its in a small percentage. This way you can have some special / trophy ships or get more supplies/oil from cargo ships.

I think the first depth charge pattern took out the sub's propulsion, hence the reason he was just hanging there in the water. He couldn't even start diesels once he hit the surface.

I think it's best to take 8x500LB SAP so you can attack both light and heavily armoured ships and have the most chance at hitting atleast 1 bomb

IJN got Cactused in no small part thanks to insufficient air cover (who would've thought that flying couple hundred kilometers to get to Guadalcanal would be somewhat deleterious to combat performance?) and inability to significantly hinder Cactus Airforce by naval bombardment. In game I'm not sure that trying to supply invasion force with destroyers is as bad a decision as IJN's IRL one given the relative lack of japanese airpower in the area, unless they park a flat top in somewhere near the slot.

One thing that I would like to see changed in the game is how submarine encounters work. It seems a little cheap that the player is able to get a heads up that they are being attacked before the enemy submarine is actually identified. Maybe an easy fix is to only start the encounter when the submarine or its torpedoes are actually seen/heard, instead of a little before they are fired, making the player need to act fast in order to avoid them. And if the torpedoes aren't noticed at all, perhaps only when your ship is actually hit by them. In any case, I'm enjoying the series
