“A first-hand account of the 1971 War for the Liberation of Bangladesh by a rifle company commander serving with the 1st Battalion, The Maratha Light Infantry (Jangi Paltan), covering the conduct of wide outflanking manoevres by infantry on foot to unhinge the adversary inflicting heavy casualties, and a link-up with a para-dropped battalion, leading to a victorious entry into Dacca within 13 days, followed by the unconditional surrender of the Pakistani forces in the Eastern theatre.”
