Also its goddamn Triplex rockets seem wildly inaccurate - not snipey like I've seen on older videos. I heard they got an accuracy nerf before I acquired the Sea Fury last week. Possibly a penetration buff, but until I get much better at them the Triplexes still seem much worse than a simple pair of bombs. Practice makes perfect, or they're just bad rockets?

3:59 is exactly why i want the auto control of your canon removed. If your barrel is obstructed or you aim at some in scope but is registered obstructed on a fence in 3rd person it moves your barrel up or down and it has got me killed so many times

This Challenger and also the similar, lower BR, more stripped-down Avenger are both fantastic tanks. They face a ton of uptiers, which might be why they are balanced to be strong for their actual BR. I love the challenge of trying to play to their strengths and around their glaringly awful reverse speed.

The A-30 Challenger is one of my all time favorites in War Thunder! Not many enemies suspect the high turret rotation speed, nor for you to pen them even when they’re angled, all because surprise! It also gets god tier sabot. Certainly, it has its limits, like the armor, although sometimes weirdly trolly (but only when you’re facing it lol) but my combat style for it? Sit and snipe or shoot and scoot. It has speed, gun depression, velocity and penetration, and the aforementioned turret rotation, so it truly feels like a multi-role vehicle. Just remember it’s British and not to rely on reverse speed to save you XD, forewords or turn around unless you know you can kill in one shot or won’t get caught out when reversing. Again, one of my favorite tanks in the game, because the grind isn’t even terrible either.

This thing has an impressively trolly armour. The internal gun mantlet can absorb a Panther round, and the gun breech can sponge those that penetrates. And it also divides the turret in two against APHE, allowing 2 of the turret crew to survive pretty much anything shot to the turret thanks to jank internal overpressure and fragmentation physics.

FYI, with the APDS on the challenger and above you can UFP the panthers even at some range, instead of the shot you have to take on the cheek with a Sherman or T34 etc

Playing without HE-filler will make you ascend to another plane of existence. The British compensate for it by having a hell of a lot of pen, meaning that you can kill those who believe themselves unkillable. Like Jumbos. Especially jumbos. And Panthers.

The A30 Challenger (on a bad day she's the A30 Challenged) is a fun tank most of the time. The best way to play the Challenger is to flank around the enemy (preferably the Germans), find a nice comfy spot and unload everything you've got. The 17pdr on the Challenger is beautiful with the sabot round, you can finally kill Panthers without having to be peck them to death. If you know where to aim, you can ammo rack almost any tank you see and it is incredibly satisfying seeing Tigers pop their turrets.

shot one of these in the turret the other day with the sturer emil's 128mm cannon, the one with 250mm pen. It wasnt moving, and was straight on to me, I hit just bellow the barrel, it penned and made the gun breach slightly yellow and then didnt explode like apHE is supposed to. This game sometimes struggles to make sense
