Very happy to find this channel. When you say that this plane suffers from compression so it's best suited for BnZ that confuses me. Surely BnZ style is the one most likely to lead to high speeds and therefore compression?

The Tempest is best suited for BnZ because of its powerful engine and energy retention. Control stiffness due to compression is why it must make multiple passes on a target. It's not that this plane suffers from compression so it's best suited for BnZ, it's that this plane is best suited for BnZ but it suffers from compression more than other BnZ planes.

​@Renta352 It's definitely a bit difficult to make a clean pass in the Mk. V, but it is *so* much better than trying the same in a Mk. 1b Late Typhoon. The lockup that thing suffers from can make it feel like pure insanity trying to kill on the dive.

Tempest seems like a nice plane but grinding to tier IV britian would be a pain and im mainly grinding russians now xD nice vid tho

You said that optimal climb ias is 297 km/h, but the British props' climbing speed's steam page says 250 km/h, those pages are or aren't reliable?

Optimal climb speed depends on the aerodynamic properties of a specific aircraft. Go too fast, and the nose isn't pointing upwards enough. Go too slow, and the aircraft slips downwards as it tries to follow its nose upwards. The best climb speed is a happy medium at which the aircraft is both pointed upwards and moving in the direction it is pointed. Edit: clarification

Nice job dude, I suffered so much spading this thing and I couldn't stand it. Kept getting dunked on by high TA152s and 190Ds :( Hopefully this will help me once I decide to fly it again! Ever consider showcasing the C205S3 or N2? My favourite 2 Italian planes

Vertical Energy Retention. It's how much energy the aircraft maintains as it climbs and dives.

Horizontal Energy Retention (HER): how much time it takes the aircraft to slow down when it starts out traveling faster than top speed Vertical Energy Retention (VER): how much of the original speed and altitude the aircraft still has after climbing and diving These are rated as good or bad relative to other similar aircraft at their tier.
