Yep, it was overweight and underpowered. The later versions improved matters somewhat, but it was really switching to a more powerful radial engine (resulting in the La-5) that made the design work

ERMAGERG!!! That's my Squadron! (GLL). LimaAlfa made a brief appearance but I instantly recognized SkylineRiolu's tag when it appeared. Or as he is also known as "Sky Jesus". I had such mixed emotions. Sky is a guy who once came into a match with me and one other squaddie flying Bearcats while he selected the F2A-3 Buffalo (with everyone else in the team complaining he brought the wrong plane) and after we both had long died Sky showed his skills by racking up an Ace match massively over-tiered. Anyone still in spectator view was thoroughly impressed.

One didn't go well, but on another I avenged you getting Bo in addition to Sturmling before Bear ripped me apart. Just a fun fact about this plan The number 36 lag 366 was designed over the project of the t34 this was only a replacement aircraft for the more popular yak9 series they do not have that many resources because they were producing the t34 and starting to produce the IS2 or the JS2 whatever you call it so this was only a replacement aircraft series but it became pretty good so they also produced this while they were producing the yak nines

Yeah, although the LaGG-3 wasn't very good, it was mostly wooden construction, so the Soviets kept building them because it didn't interfere much with other war production, all the way up to 1944

Soviet pilots preferred lighter armament on the centreline. It was fairly common for lend-lease planes with wing and centreline guns to have the wing guns removed (the P39s being a prime example)
