You can slow down the 109s by putting the propeller pitch to 100% and throttle to 0%, helps a lot if you don't have flaps... Putting the nose in the ground works as well.

Had my luckiest glider landing in a 109 on Norway, got my engine shot out and had to glide up and down all those mountains to get too airfield and i landed like a helicopter almost. I came in to land on the side of airfield coming in i go over a hill and jump it on to all 3 wheels lol

the 109G6 is one of my top 3 favourite aircraft of all time, such an absolute beast. I really hope it gets added into IL2 or DCS at some point so I can fly a proper simulation of it

@MagzTV love the style of this vid magz, the mix of cinematic and gameplay footage. quick note in aces high you will never see a 109 packing cannon pods. the fights are almost always so close that they offer too much of a disadvantage in weight and drag to bring them.

i think for this kinda situation, don't bother using landing gear. just perform a bely-landing and make sure u don't break your wings

you can show down quickly by slipping the plane, heavy on the rudder and keep it level with the ailerons. very tricky to do in a fighter like a 109, but better than nothing.

Good to see the G6 getting love again. One of the reasons why I stopped playing Warthunder was because of how there is always 1 US plane flying into orbit every match. It's very rare to not see Americans hiding above 7,000-8,000 meters in some corner of the map.

I love your analysis of the game, the aircraft and the commentary on the match. It's surprisingly very well done and spot on. I as finally learning the ropes though I only ever played up to tier 3.0 -3.7. It was such a great game! I even made 16 episodes on my channel before I called it quits. My favorite plane was the Bf109 E4 and even the D-100 at a tier level of 1.7 was a master of hit and runs. No one could catch up to that plane. I ALWAYS played Germany. Probably because I'm half German, 1/4 Italian and 1/4 Hungarian. So, obviously AXIS powers, though Hungary was kind of forced into being an AXIS power. I played on the PS4 Pro. It got to the point where their were too many hackers and people using Bot Aim ; though that wasn't purely the reason I quit. I quit because my PSN kept getting hacked as well as my controller. I'm not a big fan of free for play games, but I didn't have a problem spending 75$ on this game... and I would have yearly. The developers deserve it for making the best Air Simulator game ever. Next time I play will be when I build my console. It will suck to have to start from scratch again, but at least my stats will improve exponentially. Thank you for the video, it brought a smile to my face and a tear in my eye... I miss playing.

Never was much of a fan of the triple 108 setup on the G6. The wing pods get so little ammo and I'm not great at aiming 108's in the first place. You made it work pretty well, though. Nice video.

so i pulled out gradpas ol computer from my bunker last night, been in there for most of my life so like 15 years. now i wanna make it work again, it has a intel pentium iii which i learned from booting it up, it displayed a couple specs. than blue screened. how big of an improvement could i make to the cpu? i already have a new graphics card and have been offered a new power supply and motherboard cpu combo which is a tad better than what i have in cores... i think.

Eh I'll take another look at this plane but everything I've heard and had tried my self says that the G6 isn't as good as the G10/14, K4, fully upgraded and with its horrific stock grind like any late 109 it's just not worth it. But I'll take another look

G6 is 4.7, G10/14/K4 are all 5.3, Of course the G6 isn't better than them, it's an older design with a lower BR, But it also will never have to fight Any aircraft over 5.7. So no Bearcats, Tigercats, Mk 22/24 Spitfires.

Thank you again for using Feet for altitude. War Thunder players have this misconception that its just the "west" who uses ft, but realistically, every ATC, military pilot, commercial pilot uses ft for altitude.

Why is there no other opion to go headon in a p47n ? It should be managable to get an advantage over a 109 in that situation.

Should be obvious, At that altitude both aircraft have similar climb rates (You can see that in the video) and both aircraft have similar turn rates (You can see that in the video). The P47N has an advantage when it comes to speed at that altitude but that's only useful if he wants to run away and drag out the match, Avoiding the fight. In any engagement at that altitude in that situation there is no way for either aircraft to get guns on target without the other aircraft also getting guns on target unless one aircraft tries to run (I briefly alluded to this in the video) . Since neither of us where willing to back off what we get is a stalemate in the manoeuvring fight and a head on if we choose combat.

I agree that a headon is a good option for the 109 but i wouldnt accecpt it in a p 47. You can at least try to outenegry fight your opponent in the p47. A good way to do it is to use an vertical element in your reversible than ignore the headon/fake it if you repeating that procress you can get an advantage if your oponent is using flatturns ( like you did) or doesnt always use an vertical element in the reversible.This little detail can you give you the little 400-500m alt advantage you need for an short window to get him infront of your guns. Most 109 Pilots are not thinking about conserving engery cause they producing it like crazy. But such a "fight" can take over 10 mins maybe not the best footage.

Kein, The head on isn't a good option for either aircraft but it is the only option. You seem to not understand how different equal altitude fights work at near 30,000 feet. "You can at least try to out energy fight your opponent in the p47" - Sure you can try but you are missing the point, The P-47 could play the energy game all day but so can the G6. At that altitude pretty much ever manoeuvre could be matched by the other aircraft, Every time I would still have been able to turn the plane and get guns back on him on any approach. " good way to do it is to use an vertical element in your reversible than ignore the headon/fake it" - Sure you could try that, If we ignore that the P-47 would need at least a 2000ft alt advantage to be able to set that up as 28k feet and that the G6 would be able to follow the climb you would need to set up the alt advantage needed. The P-47 would only lost about 2000ft of altitude to the G6 in the fake, Remember the P-47 is heavy and there is much less lift for vertical manoeuvres when you are 8.5km above the ground. "if you repeating that procress you can get an advantage if your oponent is using flatturns" - No, The first fake would cost you 2000ish feet give or take, If you are lucky you may be able to regain most of that in a burst using the speed you gained in the fake, But more likely the G6 would simply rush at level alt after you and dive as you tried to burst the alt killing you as you attempted to return to your starting altitude. You could of course run taking the altitude back over time in the P-47, That would be an option but the recovery time from the fake would be 7 to 8 minutes changing the fight from combat to run and delay/draw out. "This little detail can you give you the little 400-500m alt advantage you need for an short window to get him infront of your guns" - No it wont, But it may give the G-6 a window to get the P-47 in front of it's guns as it attempts to take that altitude. " - Bad assumption, All good pilots will be thinking about there energy state in relation to there target at all times. Pilots not thinking about this would never have gotten into that end fight to begin with as they would already have been killed. "But such a "fight" can take over 10 mins maybe not the best footage." - No, Should the P-47 have used your advice he would have tried to gain before the first pass, lost altitude in the reversal and the fake, tried to burst and then died to my guns in the climb at about the same time but without ever having the chance to put guns on me. Or he would have ran away after having handed me the fight advantage. Your tactics here could work at 10,000 to 15,000 feet, But not at nearly 30,000.

I always spade out the aircraft because I always go back and play older planes.In fact even having all of the top jets in the game you will more often find me at the lower tiers simply because I enjoy mid tier props more. End game aircraft are not all they are cracked up to me, you may find the same thing as you advance.

Just because WT is not a realistic sim doesn't mean you cant apply real world tactics to your game play. In fact those that do are usually the good pilots, those that don't are the players that die first.

Just try a true sim like IL2 1946 or Cliffs of Dover or DCS WW II and you will see the difference. the handling, engine management, the gunnery... All is far more accurate than WT. It makes no sens to apply such real tactics on an arcade game made for teenagers playing withe mouse and keyboard.
