Just wanna mention that the "lagging reticle" is the direction your craft is heading and has nothing to do with where your bombs will actually land (besides that it'll be in its general direction) Also, speed at which plane breaks and max speed are not the same thing. and I think my favourite bit is you saying you love those guns and also not being able to hit anything with them

That’s the problem with the 5000kg bomb, you can only kill one base and you still need to return to your airfield. With the 4x 1000kg bombs you can kill 2 bases with 4 bombs

The maps that have 4 bases would be the problem. With 4 bases having at least 50% more health you would need to look at the explosive mass of your bombs and do some math.

Turn off auto level so you can man your turrets and still descend faster. I have a short video on the channel about it.

Question, how do you have it so your angle doesn’t automatically go to about +4 degrees when in bomb sight mode or rear gunner mode?

Great question! There is a setting for this that you have to turn off that automatically levels your bomber when you change to bomb sight or gunner.

I'm not sure whether to grind the Russian or American bombers. Iv completed the greman trchtree so what do you think is best? That b-29 looks hella fun for sim battles

Russia literally has the American b-29 just renamed it the TU-4 after they literally reversed engineered it when 3 crashed in Russia.

War thunders wiki page advises against using the FAB 5000 on an airfield and says use the 4x1000kg for more effect.

It doesn't make sense why'd you take 1000kg bombs. You're wasting your potential as a Pe-8. You're dropping 2 tonnes worth of explosives, where all you need to destroy a base is 1.2 tonne. So better calculates for you to take 40x100kg and set them to drop in series of either 12 or 6 and you don't waste anything. Instead of using your plane for 2 bases, you have potential for 3 bases and damaging 4th in half or dropping some bombs on AI vehicles
