Many years ago, Gaijin said right from the start they were loading ammo in the Hispanos that would not always work. Excuse me I thought. These are not Russian planes they are British. In WWII the arms dealers in Russia would not always put gun powder in the bullets to save money and make more money, and when you went to shoot your guns - nothing happened. Evidently Gaijin thought this would be fun to do to the Hispanos.

I find with the spits if you just trim down the elevators a bunch before a dogfight it helps a lot. Two reasons. Keeps you out of your stick detent while aiming and keeps you much more stable being in a pitch up maneuver at all times. In theory you should lose speed for this but doesn't seem to effect the speed much in this sim.

I took the Mk 24 out yesterday. It was the easiest takeoff I have had in a Spitfire for years. It was a little floaty in the air. But they have really fixed the takeoffs.

You should fly all planes with 100% sensitivity if you want to push them to their limits. Putting it any lower will dampen your input and introduce lag. Spits fly lovely exactly how described in historic manuals and reports. You simply have to be gentle with the stick and trim elevator to -15 for takeoff and -6 for flight.

Simple, but with everything essential. It was a real war fighter. Maybe a bit raw, because the finish weren't treated. The designers and builders aimed to the practicality, the ease of maintenance, the economy and quick building rather than aesthetics. The flight qualities, even if excellent, I thought they were inferior to the one of the Re 2005, which had a more pleasant behavior because it was more plastic. It maneuvered with more uniformity, readiness and fidelity. Especially in tight turns, the Spitfire surprised me in a negative way. It didn't stall, but it entered suddenly in prestall starting to wince a lot. This negative characteristic struck me hard. Those winces induce a strong delaying that reduced the speed. Reducing the maneuver, it resumed the normal flight. The Spitfire IX needed a more accurate and smooth pilotage, something that in war wasn't always possible. Maybe those Spitfire's limitation let my Re 2005 to survive to the furball of that 11th of July 1943 evening.

You've made flying the Spitfire look fairly easy and fluent, however I find it wants to climb on it's own with trim, spin, and it's just out right horrible. I'll try your settings and see how I get on.

Spitfires are always trying to give some hard punches to the enemies, but somewhat enemies would regard them as massaging touches. I like Spitfires, but hispano in Warthunder is similar to the cigar ashes after Churchill smoked.

I use pods for two reasons: 1. When the regular guns suck! 2. When I am specifically seeking out bombers to attack. LOL, I have to laugh. When Gaijin put out that video about the Spitfire lineup a few days ago, they ask which is your favourite Spitfire. I told them, I would only tell them, if they promised to not nerf it after. I always found that ground target belts worked best on the Spits. The air belts sparked a lot. Gaijin said years ago, there was no guarantee the explosive shells in a Spit would always work. Sort of like the Russian ammo manufacturers not always putting gun powder in a shell sort of thing.

Nice Video. Why are you following burning planes(In sim you will most likely die or when the fire somehow stops you are probably not able to keep on fighting) or when they have lost an elevator and you keep wasting ammo on them. In my opinion when they are able to land a plane without the elevator you earned it and if not you would still get the kill.

M8, i've had a hard time learning to tame my Spitfires, I play on Mouse joystick. Any advices or videos?. I feel like the problem is not getting kills, but using my plane to make one. I dislike so much when i'm struggling on a dogfight with a 109 and i get into spin, Roll is so hard to control as well. I even went to that side and managed 12 kills with minimal effort in the 109. So its my inability control my Spitfire.

The Griffon Spits are really hard to aim for me as well. Maybe they are better high-altitude fighters but low alt with the engine torque and sensitive rudder they're difficult.

The Hi Spark noes defualt ammobelts are 50% useless. That have Practice and Pure Tracer rounds, which help light up the target at night time and are just bad AP shells that can damage wodden aircraft but not set themon fire. Personally I use stealth belts, no Practice or Tracer shells and after using them from BR 2.0-.8.7, I've got the lead down.

It's hard to say mate, half my friends and I think they fly nice now but the other half of my friends think they are still bad. It's worth noting that I clicked the "work it progress" button on the launcher. I would take a few out on the test flight and check for yourself. :)

I don't think your aim if off brother. I think the slow velocity and spread of the 20mm hinders aiming, the 7.7 don't do anything unless you get a 4 second straight burst into someone (not possible in a turn) I've had more luck with a 250 convergence and getting right up their bum.. I set my aerolon so I can't pull the last quarter available limits to climb. 45 mins of fuel Got 12 kills and 2 deaths last match after doing that. Previously I died 12 times and got 2 kills . Mk1 mk2 and the venture spit. I hate how bad they are in sim

Can you play this with keyboard and mouse? I'm sick of RB where every enemy can see exactly where you are if a single enemy sees you. It's extremely unfair and is a death sentense in most cases.

There are people who are really good with M+KB, but a proper stick is usually better. If you have an xbox controller I recommend hooking that up for sim rather than KB+M. Have pitch+roll on the left stick, head turning on the right stick. Also rudder on the triggers and the 2 bumpers for small and high calibre weapons. The rest of the buttons are for everything else, you may need to have button combinations for some things, or just have a keyboard in front of you for less combat oriented things like gear, etc.

I like the change. I prefer everyone having to spawn in a 8.0 vehicle at the start for example instead of instantly being able to spawn in an 8.3 indefinitely. Gives me a reason to use my Sea Venom!

I prefere the old spawn mechanic, it gave you more choice and it helped to counteract the SP disadvantage for players who didn't join at the start of the battle.

They tried to fix the bug where some were getting 200SP and others 0 but they said they couldn't fix it. They HAD to remove it apparently but i like this change.... no more OP F9F with AAM at the beginning for example, and its very easy to get SP. Just shoot howitzers,tanks and bombers: easy SP :)

Have you noticed when you are up against a player who also plays DCS? The DCS player, almost always merges before going into the fight. Most WT players have no idea what "Merge" means. "L"
