It's just my luck that the first time my favorite combiner group gets any love it's from a company that isn't interested in cartoon accuracy. Since I started collecting MP and 3rd party transformers, I've longed for G1-accurate Technobots. A fanboy can dream, I guess...

Hey Bobby, I just got mine all together. To bulk him up a bit I took the flight stand and encapsulated it within the wings on his back. It stays fine if u pull out the thin dark grey tab on his back, then pull the tab within the stand completely out and insurt that into the hole where you took out the thin tab, then close the wings around it. Also I took the 2 small swords and plugged them into the top of the white backpack so they stick up behind his head ( silver Area of swords facing forward ) and he looks so much better. I wasn't too thrilled at first but after these adjustments he looks bad ass. Give it a try, I know it's not his normal look but it made the difference for me.

If this were to walk. He would trip over on light speed and nosecones shoulders. I would just get those cannons on his chest off. Find other spots. As for the pieces coming off. That's why I said that those spring loaded features. They should should stay away from it. You touch it and a piece goes flying. I just wish they would fix the way these 3rd party combiners stand. Extend their hips a little so their legs are straight. I'm not crazy of their getting ready to do a split stance. I'm on the fence in getting this now. I do like 3 of the 5 in Robot mode. The combiner is still iffy. Thanks for the review.

not sure whether anybody said it already, but I managed to get both knees and thigh swivel by moving the "scattershot" shins down to the original thigh swivel. For the arms I prefer to have the shoulder ratchet from the main body up to 45 degrees, then let the other joints let the arms down flush or in other poses. I feel overall happy with this set.

Looking to grab a computron, but unsure whether to go with this or Maketoys version, one thing that does worry me is how much force some of the joints need to go together, is that just standard fair though for 3rd party or is this guy worse then the norm? Any advice would be good as you seem to be a very, and i mean VERY, thorough reviewer. Also wish you personally safety during everything going on.

Wow almost making that TW Dinobot combiner look good. Got a little cw syndrome going in the arms. At least they look good in the individual modes. Maybe I had unrealistic expectations after Bruticus.

Not a computron fan (I do like Lightspeed...soft spot for exotic looking cars) but this is phenomenal lookin. I think I don't like computron because of the seemingly out of place drill machine and motorcycle...if it was two cars and three cybertron jets I would adore him.

Nice review man and agreed not as impressive as Bruticus but never was anyways. Ahhhh the paint shout out! 5 minutes of your time and a PRISMACOLOR PEN MAN LOL! If you spin the torso you get knees. I shortened the arms as you suggested and it does look much more proportionate depending on stoic pose. Probability of keeping this version of Computron 100% future release by another 3rd party imminent..............calculation of funds towards combiner astronomical.

Ya know, I never was a Computron fan, but gotta admit, I kinda like this, & almost got Lightspeed too. Lol Though, looks tons better than the Hasbro offering, whereas in combined mode, Hasbro just repainted Superion...ugh...if only they would learn from 3rd party companies such as this one from Warbotron. Seeing this, I would like to see what TFC Toys could do with Computron in the future, see if theirs would look any similar to Warbotron or not, would be interesting to find out. All in all, maybe, just maybe, I'll go for this at some point next year, & get their Grimlock since Grimlock went with Computron to give him knowledge in G1. Who knows. :)

Warbotron should do something on Computron's head and torso piece.Rumour stated the shield piece of laser cannon is the torso. So far so update yet.

do you think part of the issue with this combiner is that Computron is pretty much a B List character as opposed to Bruticus or Devastator? I've got the set and I agree with almost all your thoughts as well. Part of the deal with presence for me had to do with growing up watching the show. I look at Bruticus and I remember being in awe as he soundly thrashed the constructicon team, whereas Computron did what? get infected with the hate virus and fade away into memory. I dunno, just something I thought about.

I just re watched this vid. I kinda feel they needed to make Scattershot a bit bigger. Like that the limbs don't look so bulky. Thats what most of these combiners suffer from. I kinda feel that if they did the same with Onslaught. These two would be awesome. The shoulders on the legs should be made to somehow swivel towards the back. Like that the thing could stand in attention. Still on the fence on this.

Your thoughts kinda mirror my own on him, he's awesome to look at, but he doesn't feel as solid somehow to Bruticus. I like making a pic axe out of the canon and swords, using the cannon barrel extended as a handle.

What a mess, thank god I passed on this guy. Just like Ordin, after the first robot, it's been downhill ever since for these guys, the only difference is that Ordin actually looks good in combined mode and Warbo's Computron doesn't. Just take a look at that tiny torso and the tiny pin head on head on him, the fact that he's sort of missing a blast shield just makes him look ridiculous.....MEH! I had lost interest in these guys a long time ago but the final nail was put in the coffin when I saw their Scattorshot. What a partsforming trainwreck that guy is. Even the G1 toy manages to make him all in one, which shouldn't be difficult for a third party to do, given he doesn't have a complex transformation to begin with. While the individual robots look good and I say this with trepidation...the combined mode looks terrible and that is the big reason why I tend to buy combiners. Another problem with these guys is that it seems warbo doesn't even know what look/aesthetics they were going for with these guys....some of them look heavily toy inspired, some heavily toon inspired and others some weird amalgamation of toon/toy/whatever the fuck they were going for. So you line them up together they look fucking weird. I'm so glad I resisted Turbo Ejector and I was right to do so, because it's just been downhill since then. And one more thing....why is the horn/antenna on the left side of his head shorter than the one on his right! Awesome review as usual Mr Skullface!

Great review (adorable kid call! lol I always wonder how you keep the urchins off the mic... lol I can't have 5 minutes without someone interrupting me.) I don't think it's Computron himself that's underwhelming, but rather this version. Warbotron just did a generic number on him. When I think of Computron, I think of a stylized combiner - tons of kibble and hardware popping off of him, like he's a walking junkyard of high tech! Know what I mean? This one is too clean, imo. He needs a hunchback, like with MakeToys version - I get it's a smaller, non-MP representation, but the messy look works for me better. That's probably why Warbo' s Bruticus looks good - the uniform/clean representation fits. Here, it's like they applied Bruticus to Computron, and they're two completely different beasts. I don't know if you touched on that in your review (sped through a bit of it), but it seems like these are Bruticus limbs/torso made for Computron (if that makes sense). Keep up the great work! How do you keep those shelf-toppers dust free?!? I'm leaning toward displaying my gestalts without legs, just to fit them in the Detolf's. Kind of works with Hasbro's Devy, and probably a better idea for keeping the dust off (and preventing the inevitable somersault of doom).

Do you think perhaps that Decepticon combiners just simply have a better presence than the Autobot ones? I speaking beyond the toys. But in art, aesthetic and in character. These combiners are supposed to be monstrous may just be better suited to the bad guy team. Whereas singular gigantic characters seem more heroic. i.e. Omega Supreme.

David Marlin to disconnect Lightspeed pull the black back piece off and you can see the tab that locks the leg you can push tab with a small screwdriver and for Nosecone to disconnect you can push his head up a little and you can see the tab again push it with a small screwdriver

Id like to get a Computron but I am torn between the two offerings andI also notice that they both suffer from small head syndrome. Would you recommend one over the other? Do you know of any up grade parts coming out? I have Superion and the Feral Rex, so which would go with them?

No problem with the wow factor here as I love Computron & the Technobots. What I can't get over is the final torso presentation of this toy. Just doesn't work as Computron. It's like the care they took in trying to replicate Bruticus just wasn't there for this guy. Maybe I'm just a Nazi or a zealot but a respectable effort to replicate that torso just isn't there. Too late as I was already 3 figs deep before I realized they had no intention of addressing the matter. I'll find some satisfaction with him, but that wow factor just won't be there. Nit picky? Perhaps, but I'm not interested in a world where Prime has no faceplate, armored cars serve as Defensor's leg, or Carnage in C Minor is an acceptable attempt at animation. Venting over. Back to my troll cave.

His torso is too small, and the limbs too big. Arms are passable after you shortened them, but those legs.....hoo-boy. Length isn't awful, but wow - it's like Hulk Hogan stole Andre the Giant's legs. He's a skinny nerd that walks everywhere. The colors and general aesthetic is great though.

I am still messing around with Computron and you're completely way off on your final analysis. To me it looks like you didn't play around with him in combine mode before you shot this video. The same issues you had were the same when I first combined him ( exception shoulder issue you have on your mold.) After posing him and a few hours Comp is fine. This the reason why these reviews are opinions and this was certainly absolute opinion.
