I'm a 47 year old dude who's been into Thrash since I was 14. When Thrash bands started to disappear, I got into Death Metal and all kinds of other heavy stuff. I still listened to the classics but I was always looking for that new thing...That new heavy sound. Then the new wave of Thrash bands started to crop up, and that new heavy sound was actually the old heavy sound revived and revisited. And I gotta say, Warbringer is one of the best at breathing new life into Thrash. The new album is killer and hasn't left my player since it came out. Great job on keeping an old school metal head interested, and wanting more.

Exactly. I remember when old school thrash metal bands wanted to get into the experimental and nu metal stuff that was getting attention back in the 90's. Good thing that some of them went back to the old stuff along with the new bands like you said.

I first discovered thrash via Master of Puppets and Reign in Blood back as a young high schooler in 1987. Weapons of Tomorrow might be the best thrash record I've heard since then. You guys are the real package deal - talent, songwriting, production, concept, execution. This album is easily a 9 out of 10.

I actually first heard Glorious End courtesy of Spotify throwing a thrash playlist at me in the same week I watched the new All Quiet on the Western Front. That made it hit SUPER heavy, and I sat there like whoa. Brilliant work, dudes. This easily makes it a top 5 thrash record for me.

Well done Carlos, great takes and great riffs. What makes this album so good is the riffs, nods and experimentation along with John's showmanship. Defiance of Fate showed some real respect for Black and it really added an extra dimension to the Thrash and Death worship. Wrote that high and cleaned it up sober, thrash as fuck. Edit. Thanks to the whole band for explaining at length, and thanks Adam for Notre Dame great work all round.

You guys are so awesome it's great to see intellectual dudes writing badass heavy metal music with deep thought and actual meaning of things in a time in life where shits so fucked up and no one can think for themselves. Defiance of fate is such a brilliant song and Carlos you are a legend that guitar melody throughout the song primarily towards the end is so fucking good and catchy. Definitely my favorite song on the album. Keep up the great work boys heavy metal forever 🤘🤘🤘

John is a historian and that's cool. Many of the people who are under 30 can look into the history of different wars. Forgetting history can lead to more of them. So was the late Jeff Hanneman who was a great lyricist. It's awesome when you're drummer who's great in his own right is the best riff master in the band. 🤘🏼

I think honestly lyrically the record is...sheltered. Divorced from any large over arching geopolitical issues or even likely future technologies. At least in my opinion the concept of high firepower warfare isn't the most looming terror on earth. There are other sciences that terrify me far beyond a shadow organization hit, or combat. And for that reason this all feels like...fishing. Sheltered. Disconnected from what many of us are actually worried about.
@Torgomasta4 жыл бұрын

@conservat1vepatr1ot4 жыл бұрын
I disagree. This album is imagining the literal developments of technology and how it removes all personal elements of killing and war. Once there were swords and spears, that took courage and prowess in battle, being able to stomach driving cold steel through a human with the aim to end life. Then there were guns, still horrifyingly intimate in the way of killing, but there is a comforting dissociation when you can kill someone from a few hundred feet away and not even be sure if it was hour shot to take the life. Now there are literally drones that display body heat and are controlled by a killer in a different country. The kids at the “helms” of these most recent machines of death, would never be considered a killer by societal standards. They literally punch in and out like a normal 9-5, while wearing a uniform. What this album sheds light on, at least for me, is that some day, removing human life from the path of your aspirations or desires, may become as commonplace as filling your car up at a gas station. Just my thoughts, you could be right, but don’t hurry to discredit this awesome band.
@TheNewAgeGamer974 жыл бұрын
Why do they have to write about looming terror or things you're afraid of? The worst thing they can do is write about "modern" problems. It dates the album really hard.
