Great video! I didn't play any versus back in the day and when I was really young I just used cheat codes in single player lol. But in later years I actually did beat the original campaigns without cheats (that last human mission was hard though! and I didn't get far in Beyond the Dark Portal.) I'm glad to see there's still a community around this great nostalgic game!

Lovely video. I kinda enjoyed this one due to some obvious facts. Do you have one on the advanced strategies? 1, 2 and 3, those people didn't play against bots just yet... clearly they learn after a match or 2. If not, they are just....no point int telling them, honestly. 4. This is a choice, it depends on the starting resources and map. If it is a big map, and you start with 10k gold and 5k wood. Upgrading asap is actually smart. But the goal should be that +10% gold. Not the Ogre's. Simply do your basic stuff. 5 and 6, see point 1, 2 and 3. 7. I always build archers/axethrowers. But as defenders behind a guard tower. And well shielded with other buidlings. This way, the grunts/footman can't reach them. 8. I guess I played very hard matches then. These towers looked well placed. If the economy is right, and you have a similar army in resources as the towers. You are doing fine. Obviously, too much towers depends on what you want to protect. My advice is 2 units, 1 tower, remaining resources 6 to 10K. Once the resources are starting to get lower. Simply add more units only. 9. Yes. 10. Yes, yes and yes. But that goes for every RTS game. In other words. See point 1, 2 and 3. 11. As long as they are constantly producing. And a player has still unspend resources. Adding 1 more Barracks should be no problem. As soon as the Barracks are having pauses, the player has enough. While you are right in saying, too many is no good. What about telling the new players on how to optimise this? 12. "Why doesn't anyone want to play with me anymore?" I have seen that question a lot in the past. This is why. Exactly this reason. Then again, who in their right mind, builds in the middle of THAT map? I say, smart idea of the player to ignore his ally in that example :D 13. It isn't Ogre, when it is Ogre!!! Reasons for not quiting: - You want to tell the one who defeats you, GG. Or simply a nice chat in the game (private room) - You want to give your opponent the time to enjoy destroying a defenseless base. Maybe experiment some magic or stuff, since they are noobs. - This is your way of rage quitting. By NOT quitting, waste their time!! - You don't want to play with this person anymore. Yet he didn't get the message, simply waste his time like this. Spam farms everywhere if you still can do so. - You're a D anyways. Cheers, X3M

@@w2babyshark Haha. Whenever you get the chance it would be great. There are no strategy tips at all for warcraft 2 on youtube. Can you give a tip for countering Ogre-mages as human in the meantime? When I make Griffins they take forever and don't seem to move when I try to click them away from the death and decay spell so they die quickly.

If you are human against lusties, you want good wall-ins (that means buildings are blocking the opening to your resource-collecting peons) and a cannon tower or a few towers shoot at the attacking ogres AND you should have a walled-in mage inside there too to cast blizzard on the ogres when they show up. I used to play this game every day on my first computer like 2006-2007 circa, was able to complete the campaign only bcs of big peon and tower rush all over the map, with some ogres chasing the ballistas down, espacially from the Quel Thalas mission onwards. Any chance your servers are still running and ur inviting new players? like totally new players like ,,killing my peon bcs i built this farm too close to treeline and now he cant go out,, type of new player xdd you sond like a lovely person to hang out and play some noastaliga filled games with, would very much love to

Play on slower speed then. The AI usually is set to focus on land. Meaning they will rush and find you fast. How to counter the AI rush. 1hall+farm+rax+farm+smith. So just pump grunts/footmen from the rax and get smith level 5. And you will beat the AI cause they build archers and catapults, and grunts/footmen will overpower the AI. Around 12 grunts is enough to hold it untill you get keep. Once you reach about 19peons you upgrade to keep/stronghold.

It's way more fun to play with other people than vs computer opponents, but if you want to play computer opponents, you could wall in a tower to help you stay alive while you build up your army. Level up your units, have better unit control than the computer, there are ways to get an edge even though they can send guys at you quickly.

Yes, almost everything costs wood so if you rush too long (just focus on collecting gold and making footmen which don't cost wood), you will hit a farm wall when you can't make more units when you're maxed out on farms/food. You want to be sure to chop BEFORE you hit that wall or it could cost you dearly while your opponent continues to build units. You can pull peons from gold rather than having to make new peons to chop because building all new peons for collecting wood will put you way behind as well. You need to pull them out of the gold collecting line while they don't have a gold bag since peons can't chop if they are carrying a bag of gold. Gold is heavy.

I guess I'm not as much of a newb as i thought. I do make too many towers though. Block paths off to attack my base with farms, then put a tower or 2 behind farms. I end up with farm / tower blockades everywhere when i guess i should have just been making morr units and attacking. And yet i can't help myself

Believe it or not, I once spent 30 minutes trying to help a brand new player figure out how to move his peon. His peon stood motionless for 30 mins while I was bewildered at how he could not figure out how to make his peon move even though I kept explaining "Just click on it, then you can right click to move or press bh to build a hall" and also explained he could press the picture icons at bottom left. It was someone I knew so I know he wasn't trolling me lol.

I'm attaching a grammar guide link here that goes over capitalization rules in titles. It can be tricky for sure with some words, such as prepositions like "to", but some words in titles don't always get a capital letter.
