Now, having seen the end, wouldn't a single Frost Tower at the end just...negate around 90% of the damage, they deal to the portal? This seems like a huge oversight.

I know it might sound cruel of me to say this, but I kind of enjoy it a bit more when Jay steals away victory by a mix of both luck and skill - Had those pandaren failed to clump up, it would've been a GG right there. Keep up the good work Jay, you're helping making this lockdown less of a pain :D

The Crossing on hard is just impossible. I quit after a couple hours of multiple attempts it's just overwhelming the number of things you need to do in a timely manner so as to avoid getting heavy losses on portal by a overflow of enemy units. Tbh I don't know why the Scourge and the Burning Legion were a problem at all - Garithos could have defeated the burning legion with these many troops 😂Like he even got big lizards and sasquatches to attack the portal. I wonder what type of recruitment was used 😂 Anyway. Thanks for your guides Jayborino - really helpful.

If a group hit the portal is fine because it only cout the first one, the rest are dead by the damage area of the bomb, and every bomb dial 4

My last run with this was insane. I had 3% health on the portal when the last wave came out, and a few mobs were still lingering behind, seconds from hitting the portal. I thought it was failed, but it said completed. I guess it ends when the last wave comes out. Doesn't get any closer than that. Failed 5 times prior.

I still can't stand new Campaign Menu, it's... underwhelming. The original had actual 3D models created only for that single menu, for each campaign.

There are differences other than vault items - did I see right that available unit food count for the map was upped from original 12 to 50? That begs the question, are some blood elf units aside from stern-faced engineers (they wouldn't be out of place being behind lectern lecturing on an university) available to help the player win this? Perhaps archers or dragonhawk riders with their aerial shackles? I like the overall design of reforged high/blood elves, however there are some minor misgivings - archers have anime eyes while sorceresses don't, and spell breakers look like either they didn't get any sleep throughout the campaign, or are on drugs (then again, it's possibly down to stiffness of unit portraits). Perhaps the pandaren brewmaster you get for completing this mission will have working inventory for once (it's a possibility). We shall see in the next episode. Also, Jay, Vashj almost sounded like you with ''protect the portal!''. Possible new meme?

still wonder why the fuck didn't Kael(and to lesser extent Illidan) seek out the Sons of Lothar(Khadgar's group) there in Draenor/Outland for help? pretty sure he could found some former Alliance Expedition or those High Elves stationed near Achuindun(sorry for the spelling) that are still nice to them.

There's a chance Illidan may have seen/known of other Elves or Humans, but given how he looks, there's a fair chance that he would be treated like a just another demon. Kael'thas didn't know there were Alliance survivors - no one did until The Burning Crusade. Although why is a fair question when Honor Hold is in the middle of Hellfire, and they ran all over Hellfire closing portals.

@@randzopyr1038 Well, while Outland in W3 looks only like Hellfire peninsula, it's because Outland wasn't really fleshed out at that time. Lorewise they ran across the entire Outland, not just Hellfire. 3 out of 4 Dimensional Gates can be found in WoW and their retrospective locatons are - Zangarmarsh, Nagrand, Blade's Edge mountains. The Black Citadel(Temple) is not in Hellfire either, but in Shadowmoon Valley. The naga and belves didn't enter Outland through the Dark Portal either, so it is plausible that they could have avoided Hellfire, and the Alliance remnants altogether. The issue of Illidan looking very much demon-like you brought up would also be a huge factor and possible explanation. At the end of the day though, it comes down to Outland not being fleshed out in W3 as it is in WoW, and developers themselves not knowing at the time that something of the Alliance survived there.

My biggest issue with this mission is that is you fall just a little behind, you lose your income and it seems like it's almost impossible to catch back up.

I don't know if it stayed in reforged, but the benefit to upgrading death towers was attack speed as much as damage
