Also noteworthy this mission is that you *finally* get to use Chimeras who were absent in Reign of Chaos. But the Mountain Giants not being happy, that's a real downer.

They are actually in the final Nelf mission now :) And in this campaign you can build watcher units now.

I loved the mission idea, but even on normal I hated pushing into the bases, because one wrong move and you wipe because there's just so much stuff coming at you.

Archer's are medium armor, so they take reduced damage from croatl... but have 310hp so they still die almost instantly. It's so bad. XD Also, victory is ours while an archer in the background gets eaten.

I'm pretty sure they kept attacking Maiev's original base because you still had your production structures there. Also, hate to be that person, but you missed another Amulet of Spell Shield :^)

Jayborino, this would probably be a lot easier if you had Chimeras and Druids of the Talon in Storm Crow form. Yes, it'll take longer, but it'll be easier for you to wreck the naga base.

It does look like the Shadow Orb lets Maiev attack air. Still doesn't have a proper orb effect, though, so it shouldn't hurt anything to stack another orb on her.

Usually I'd give her the Orb of Slow, but they inexplicably replaced it on mission 4 with a Rusty Mining Pick

@@JayborinoPlays I saw that. Very strange. There is also the option of the Orb of Venom from the Ancient of Wonders, but it's less clear that that's better than her other options. Not criticizing your item choices, just commenting on what's available.

You'd get crushed in hard. Hard AI has very good micro and is programmed to focus on the weakest units to get alot of kills

He wouldn't even need to speak _more_ words, just actually say something meaningful and save his BDSM dirty talk with Maiev for afterwards.

@@Larow17 As far as we're told Malfurion does not know about Illidan's encounter with Arthas, or at least not the contents of their conversation. Nor does anyone (even us players at this point!) know the identity of Illidan's "new master". _Illidan_ is the one taking the initiative to even bring him up here, which is yet another monumentally stupid move both strategically (alerting Maiev and other enemies to the possibility of reinforcements!) and in terms of his personal relationships. Whether the Scourge still serves the Legion or not doesn't really matter in this context. Pretty much all the living want them gone for good regardless. Just bring up the Lich King as the commander of the Scourge and leave his allegiances open. Even better for Illidan IIRC the arc with Tyrande unfolds without his direct contribution beyond fleeing at the end of this mission, so Malfurion would have a personal reason to ensure they don't get a second chance (though in that scenario he would need to rethink the "melting the North Pole" plan and then flee anyway, otherwise Malfurion will still see him as the greater threat).

I know what you mean but i was trying to point at is that of Illidan were to explain his reason and knowledge. There would be no reason to trust him since he already absrobed demonic Energy (big no no), enlisted faction hostile to night elves and would have to explain to them how come that he knows so much about undead and how come they didn't lose when Legion was pushed back. From Malfurion's point of view it would be that disgraced and corrupted Illidan and his band of serpents with hate boners for NE were trying to optain demonic artifact to fight an enemy who was unheard of. He should have tried to convinced them before Talking to naga and the it would be possible to come up with a plan that would be smarter than "just nuke this whole place XD"

@@Larow17 Well I certainly wouldn't expect the two brothers to collaborate on anything other than a direct assault on their homeland or Tyrande being in immediate mortal peril. But you must agree that (selectively) telling his actual plan can't really go _worse_ than what Illidan actually did, which still involved the serpents with murderboners channelling a spell to melt/crack open the planet. If nothing else knowing the target to be a common enemy might have caused Malfurion to hesitate a bit, buying Illidan enough time to doom the Lich King before being stopped. No idea how Kil'Jaeden would act in that case but as of WC3 canon the Scourge certainly isn't doing much to _hold back_ the Burning Legion or otherwise dissuade them from invading again immediately.

Besides the slight upgrade look on all the units is there any difference between reforged and the classic version? I'm just not seeing it. I guess this is good for those who didn't grow up playing WC3, but that's about it.

I wouldn't say its a slight graphics upgrade (its pretty big), but yes, there are other changes. I am going to concentrate on campaign since thats what I played in classic as well, I didn't mess with multiplayer. 1. Widescreen support. 2. A couple of completely new Prologue missions that didn't exist in classic. 3. Minor balance changes made with unit stats and items available in campaigns (I don't have a list of all the changes made). 4. Some maps were reworked a bit, some were reworked a TON (Culling of Stratholme map plays completely differently and was redesigned). Those are 4 that I can think of, but there are probably more.

This was a hard mission Jay but still it took you far less than it took me to finish it :). Just a friendly note in case you ever decide to replay this map for any reason, at maiev's starting base there are some turtles on the beach southeast of her base ( reachable only by blink ). One of the turtles drops a consumable that can help you with defending :) .
