You know whats even more amazing/shocking? that apparently these new models are NOT even made by Blizzard themselves, but some outsourced studio made them....creating even more detailed models for RTS game than Blizzard has been able to create in WoW!

It occurs to me that Mal'ganis, the chump that Arthas stabs all the way back when he first grabs Frostmourne, is the second most blinged-out Dreadlord, only behind Tichondrius himself. I get that he was "puclicly" the leader of the Scourge forces, but mayhap Mal'ganis was a touch higher up in the hierarchy than we thought?

Exactly my thoughts. With some of them you can even see that they are pretty low poly so they will work pretty smooth with the game but they are so well finished with lighting and normal maps etc that they look two times as good as every model used in wow these days. Anub'Arak looks better here than he does in heroes of the storm. I wonder what "studio" blizzard out sourced these models because this is insane.

Noticed a few things: Ghoul became less boney -Crypt fiends isn't just a spider but a hybrid- Went back to look at what the old crypt fiend looks like. Didn't notice it was already a hybrid. Shade is no longer a skeleton

I appreciate Blizzard taking note on the finer details from the original Warcraft 3. Arthas was originally right handed when wielding a hammer, when he got Frostmourne he was still right handed, but when he turned undead he somehow got left handed. Looks to me that even in reforged, Blizzard kept that detail and he is indeed left handed while on horseback. Strange thing i think.

I have honnestly mixed feeling about some of these, particulalry the heores. On one hand you'd haved to be blind not to admite these are defintively high quality models, they have lots or polys and great texture works. and it's nice that campaign heroes have differences between them, each with a unique design. ..But on the other hand: they feel too busy, too many shoulder pads, to may spikes and clothes details. I know it's very much in line with WOW art style but like me you would be interested in a WC3 reake because you were a WC3 pan, not a WOW fan, this feels a bit .. off. The original WC3 art (and even early WOW) style managed to be unique in it's cartoony way despite using very low poly models by using exagerated proportions, notable animation and a very vivid color palette. and part of these aspects seem a bit "lost in translation". I also have to wonder how many of those details will actualy be really relevant and show in game where you spend half your time seeing units from above at a distance. I suppose we'll have to see how they look in game and fully animated and with team color but I feel fairly ambivalent at the moment.
