I've a feeling that the films are not following the game releases. I don't think Duncan Jones is going to film WC3 stuff. There was a collider interview in which he was talking about the trilogy he wants to create. I got the impression that he is sticking to a re-designed, WC1, WC2, WC2:BTDP. If Blizz can manage to turn this into a cinematic universe, we'll see the LK eventually, I'm sure.

The storyline is based on The Last Guardian book by Jeff Grubb and parts of the narratives on the Orcs in the movie is based on Rise of the Horde book by Christie Golden. The map, terrain, architecture, casting animation, and other visuals is based on WoW the game. The movie poster is based on Warcraft I. The movie hits the ground running really fast from the start to each scene jumps, it was definitely made for the fans more than for the masses and it was Glorious!!!! for those who know the background of each characters and outcome of each events, the storyline in the movie became secondary to our consciousness and our focus gravitated more towards a full on appreciation fest to an amazing 123mins of in-game cinematics that we've all been crying for since Warcraft III RoC/FT. Seeing characters, spells, locations, brought to life with ultimate realism unparalleled by any movies before this. The movie emersion wont break from start to finish..

It makes you appreciate what you did in WoW for the Orc Chieftain. Ahh...and who can forget baby green Jesus? Can't wait for the sequel.

The part near the end of the movie where they are saving the various peasants from the orc cages felt like a story mission from the original RTS games. They also mentioned the Black Morass, and Blackrock Spire. And when you see the orc horde coming through the Dark Portal from Draenor, it looks almost exactly the way that the area just on the other side of the Dark Portal looks in the Burning Crusade expansion.

yeah it was kind of a rushed film but it was direct an to the point. for those who haven't played Warcraft learning a bit about the game lore would give you a massive head start, its like GoT book readers to the TV series watchers, as book readers know all about the tower of Joy whilst series watchers are just guessing at this point

I don't think they had a choice. LoTR cut out a large portion of the books and the movies were close to 3 hours or even longer. I have watched the movie today, and I have some questions about Medivh : 1. Why did he betray? Why did he open the portal? 2. In which point exactly has he started to be affected by the fel? And how did it start anyway? There was a clue in the scene that he burned papers, which he said that he has to deal with great powers. This means he was affected by it before. Speaking of fel, what exactly cause creatures to be affected by fel ? How come some orcs aren't affected by it? Is touching it enough? 3. At some point the fel changed his form, giving him small horns on his forehead. Yet, a bit later I saw him with the humans without any trace of the previous form, and went with them to battle (at least in the way to it). However, a few scenes later he was in the tower, with the new form. How come? He changed himself back and teleported to the tower?
@aaronbell62118 жыл бұрын
Its A long story there's so much Lore to Warcraft. The Guardian before him was his Mother Aegwyn she was infected by someone called Sargeras after battling his Avatar she won but his aim was to infect her to begin with. So when she gave birth to Medivh her plan was to give her powers to him not realizing that part of him was Sargeras and eventually he took over him. Sargeras was the Champion of the Titans who became corrupt after battling evil for so long became evil himself. Nobbel87 is the best for Warcraft Lore his has a video on this.
@LiranBarsisa8 жыл бұрын
I played Warcraft a very long time ago, so Sargeras rings a bell for me (though sadly I almost don't remember anything). Anyway, you say Medivh was battling his inner evil self for a long time, and then got corrupted? But what about the fel? Was Medivh corrupted because of fel or because of Sargeras ? Or actually Sargeras's corruption is fel itself? Was the part of opening the portal something that Medivh forgot of doing? Also, what about #3 that I wrote about?
@markodromljak28398 жыл бұрын
Sargers possed him though fel. And yeah i think he wanst aware of what he was doing when he opened the portal. I explained you 3rd question. He was transforming becouse he could not contain demon AND fell in him self. He did not went to battle with them. He said he is going in the tower to prepare for battle but actually he was going to open the portal for rest of the horde. As i said from point when he kill that old man in the tower he was not him self anymore but tottaly under influance of demon. He only tricked humans to go in battle to be killed while he opening portal from Karazhan.
@LiranBarsisa8 жыл бұрын
About my 3rd question, how come the horns went missing when he talked with the humans and even when he got back to the tower? Also, I was sure he went outside with them, but maybe I forgot about the part he said he's going back to the tower. Odd they didn't ask him what he needs to prepare ....

@jamesvandyke72148 жыл бұрын
Yeah in the first 30 mins of the movie especially
@miro59988 жыл бұрын
Yeah, because sadly it WAS edited very hard during the post production - they cut about 30-40 minites of the original material from the movie. At first the director, Duncan Jones, planned to make it longer. And he did that - the lengh of the original version was 2 hours and 40 minutes, but the producers and the studio thought it was very risky to release such a long film, especially considering the fact that it is a game movie, thus not many people would be interested to watch it etc. So they had to cut about 30 minutes from it. Hopefully we will get the director's cut later!

A Lazy Bear indeed. since in the movie, they didnt drink any demon blood to get green, instead, medivh gave knowledge of Fel to gul'dan and then Gul'dan used the fel to transform Brown orcs to Green we know them today. As they show uw in the movie how he turns Thrall and Blackhand to green by fel magic
@dragoonduneman41618 жыл бұрын
No NO NO no the Demon that took control of medivh (sagearas) told guldan. There a dialogue line where Medivh says that he know hes done bad thing but he can't remember what its entirely black to him. And so he is trying to fix things trying to understand what bad thing he did although i think he died too early ....Who gonna tell thrall now ?

@OZORxORON8 жыл бұрын
I didn't really connect with any of the human characters at all, the orcs were far more interesting but felt like much less of a focus point compared to the humans which was a shame. I didn't understand a fair bit of the movie since there was a lot left unexplained, I know nothing of the game lore so I had no idea about any of this universe going into it. I felt the finale was lackluster too, I know they're setting up a big battle for later movies but I still couldn't help but feel the finale of this movie never really wowed me in any way. I wouldn't say this movie is bad though, the critics have gone way overboard with their hatred for this movie which I feel is unjust. Hopefully there is an extended version of the movie released on blu ray that explains more of the world and lore since I felt this movie tried to do too much in the time it had.
@jorgiebutt8 жыл бұрын
Yup, part of the enjoyment of this movie were the easter eggs that Charlie mentioned. Those elements made the movie feel like a second home, if you are a World of Warcraft player, that is. I can understand not feeling connected to some of the characters, since you may not know much about their past and their value to the future of characters to come. For instance, the little green baby at the end, drifting down the river Moses-style. That baby means big things for the Horde and the Alliance, and big events follow him. As a fan of World of Warcraft, I appreciate your contribution to the movie and I hope it helps towards making a second film. Maybe it will be a more enjoyable experience for you.
@Thaddius08 жыл бұрын
as someone who played a lot of the RTS and fair ammount of the MMO, I can promise you the future storylines are much better and should be better adaptations into the movie format. Actually they still need to cover the latter half of Warcraft 1. The orcs haven't taken Blackrock Spire yet and Stormwind hasn't been sacked to force the Stormwind humans to go to Lordaeron for aid which is where Warcraft II starts.
@MysteriousMrL8 жыл бұрын
I'm thinking the next movie will immediately start with that. The humans losing Stormwind and being forced to flee, kind of Empire Strikes Back style. I really thought the bit with the portal opening up to Stormwind was going to backfire and lead the orcs straight there, but it didn't turn out that way.
@jcwolf8868 жыл бұрын
I could see that and it would make sense at this point. And yeah, I did too, figuring the orcs would fight their way through and start streaming into Stormwind. Oh well, I hope your prediction is right - it's the best way to do the attack on Stormwind that I can see.

I think they should have inspired from Lord of the Rings movies much more in story telling-wise. Let me give in an example; in LotR movies they tell you how the caracters become the way they are, the back-ground story. You see how Smeagol become Gollum (sorry if I am mistaken in names) or you see the power of the ring making Saruman throw his friend to lava. They should have shown how the Orcs become fel-orcs; they could have add a scene where Manaroth giving his blood to Guldan and Guldan making Orcs to drink it. If we had seen the transformation of normal Orcs to Fel-Orcs (the blood frenzy) it would be much clear to audiance why Guldan should be stopped. There could have been a scene in the beginning to show transformation of Dreanor. Like an eagle flying over the land showing the old green Dreanor and then new lifeless Deanor and Durotan can speak over and tell the story of the transformation. The movie already starts with Durotan's words to his son but the concept is vague. The story of Gorona was too compressed too. It looked too cheesy, the interaction of Gorona with humans. The king is sacrificing himself for greater good, I mean come on... It is so old schoold and it looks so cheesy like a soap opera on TV. Figth scenes seems a bit disconnected too. But I guess it is because it is hard to work on a choreography with CG Orcs. I give them that but still the tension doesn't build up enough... If they have done a half an hour long movie with more story telling this movie would be an 8/10. But right now all I can give 6.5/10. They could have done a much better work with few more really simple scenes :(

I watched lots of interviews of director and cast. The director is saying "we are not making a film about WoW, we are making a film about Warcraft". But here is the thing the story behind Warcraft evolved so much in time, you can not separate one from another. It is almost like this film should be the second one in a trilogy. It feels like there should be a first movie explaining titans, old gods etc. This movie is like "lets keep the story so simple so that non-players canunderstand and like it, but lets make graphics so good so that players would be satisfied too". I mean, meh...

I agree with you on some part, but u have to understand that Warcraft universe is far more larger than Lotr universe. I like both though and Peter Jackson wasnt forced to cut 40 min of his movie. I think its a big mistake, but unfortunately money still run this world and producers care more about income than about the story we would llike to see.
@ozankosar8 жыл бұрын
ilia maximov I am only comparing Warcraft with LotR in a story telling-wise. Unfortunately you are rigth about the "producer" stuff :( And that was exactly my point, if the movie was a bit longer, there would be less plot wholes. I am not a hater, don't get me wrong ;) I used to have a dvd of Scorpion King movie. When I watched the cut scenes, I saw there were parts which the prophacy of the Scorpion King is being told and why The Rock doesn't kill woman. These parts are very important for the story and the background of the characters. When you took these parts out all you have is an mediocare action movie. Likewise if you leave out the the beginning of the fel magic (demons) and effects of fel magic (blood frenzy) out, all you have is an mediocare action movie. I will watch Warcraft 10 more times probably but sadly I won't rate it more than 6.5/10 any time. Nevermind, I believe you understand what I am trying to tell and I will conclude my comments with: FOR THE HORDE!!! FOR THE WARCHIEF!!! LOK'TAR OGAR!!!!!!!

**SPOILERS** honestly, i think Arthas being in the next movie - is a little ahead. If anything, they would need to go beyond the dark portal first. Arthas, Illidan, and Thrall will be more of a bigger part of Warcraft 3 - IMO. Warcraft 2 - would be death of the lightbringer, destruction of the portal, and death of Gul'dan. ->Orc into camps Some things I didn't like, was Grom, Kilrog, and the major Orc Cheiftan plays little parts in the movie. I loved seeing Grom. Fel Magic vs Demon Blood. They should have mannoroth cut his hand pour blood into a horn, and Grom drinking it. If they planned on Arthas in a later squeal, they needed to bring in Ner'zhul - and gul'dan rise to power. However, they can always accomplish that with flash back or change it to later. Over all it was a good movie...

To be honest i think the people who liked it the most were the ones that arent too familiar with the lore. I would give it 7/10, because they really fucked up the story. Like im fine with little story change, but they bloody changed like half the story which was really dissapointing.

Characters and important elements to expect in a sequel: Zul'Aman and The Forest Trolls, Cho'Gall and the Ogres, Quel'Thalas, more of the Dwarves, Ner'Zhul(Maybe, seems so far like he's been conflated with Gul'dan's character or written out of the story altogether, might just substitute his role in the Lich King plot with Gul'dan and make him the original host for the lich king after Gul'dan is killed presumably in the WC2 movie, doubt they'll do Tomb of Sargeras.),Lothar becoming a Paladin, Orgrim becomes Warchief and battles Lothar atop Blackrock Mountain(THAT'S the fight I'm waiting for.) Teron Gorefiend and the original Death Knights. (Maybe?) And if they do Beyond The Dark Portal, (Hell, that could be a movie all by itself.) Deathwing, GRONN!(omfg yes), Kilrogg, creation of Outland, Scourge origins..yeah, all that is definitely enough for the sequel. And kid Thrall in Durnholde keep.
@DeadlySinner978 жыл бұрын
Honestly I don't know if they will even touch on the lich king in the next movie I honestly think that it should continue the 1st war story while at the same time showing the story from the books Lord of Clans and Arthas, this will allow them to develop the world and characters a bit more, specifically Thrall, Arthas, Jaina, and Varien . We will likely see some form of the Burning Legion which will likely be Mannaroth as I still believe it's still too soon to introduce Ner'zhul (The Lich King) however the character that I think they will introduce instead is Deathwing as he has a large role to play in Dark portal and Tides of Darkness. This also can introduce the Dragonflights to the the Films as they can be very interesting characters to touch on. specifically Alexstrasa, Malygos, and again Deathwing. I don't believe the films should rush to get to the reign of chaos story as there is still alot of content that they can cover before they reach that. I think that we will have to wait awhile before we get there but at the same time I think it will be worth the wait. As for my own personal review of the film. I was very impressed with the orc scenes and the performances of Travis Fimmel (Lothar) Toby Kebbell (Durotan), Daniel Wu (Gul'dan), and I was a little disappointed with the lack of charqacter development for some of the orcs mainly Grom as we do see him but he doesn't have any lines. Another character I was disappointed to not see AT ALL was Drek'Thar. But I also realize that they will get more development later on in the films as Go'el (Thrall) grows up. as for the human scenes it wasn't that they were poor in any way they were all excellent but rather they were out shined by the Orc scenes. That isn't a problem with the film or the cast but rather the source material itself the Warcraft lore is more Orc driven even in the games not to say there aren't very interesting and compelling Alliance characters there are but they don't come into play until later on in the story which could be in the next movie and if not the movie after that. The Highlight of the movie I believe is the Mak'Gora between Durotan and Gul'dan as it is an amazing way to show both the Orcs and the Audience Gul'dan's true colors (besides green) and a very emotional end to Durotan who gave everything to give his people a place they could live , thrive and call home. Those who played the games already knew that Durotan and Drakka weren't going to survive the movie but they gave them a very fitting end. All in all I felt that the Movie was perfect for setting the tone for the future films to follow I give Warcraft 8/10 (also FUCK ROTTENTOMATOES)

I am a huge fan of WoW !! That being said I feel like the sequel to Warcraft has A LOT to improve on. Not for the people who already know the lore inside and out but for those who don't. They definitely needed what I call a Peter Jackson attention to detail even for just an extra 20 to 30 minutes in the beginning to explain the characters, how they got there and where they came from. My girlfriend actually fell asleep during it, not because it was boring but because it almost moved TOO fast for those who don't know the lore and we need those people to go see the movie if we expect a sequel! No money, no movie. Also personally I felt like some of the scenes (particularly Medivh's) were pretty cheesy acting. Travis Fimmel and the rest of the cast did an excellent job. All in all we waited many years for this movie and It could not have come at a better time! Thank you blizzard !!

SPOILERS So I noticed how u forgot about warcraft II... That was the game Chris Metzen wrote and where the story became interesting, you can't go straight to Warcraft III that'd mean you'd skip where Lothar and Ogrim fight and are killed at blackrock mountain, the first death knights, how the lich king (Ner'zul) got where he is, The dragon aspects including Deathwing, the destruction of Draenor, Thrall growing up and meeting Orgrim and Gromm, the rising of the broken isles and the tomb of sargeras and the destruction of New stormwind (which is weird because the original stormwind wasn't destroyed in the movie like it was supposed to be.)

It seems like a lot of people, gamers or not enjoyed the Warcraft movie. I think they really got the epic feel and music like from the games into it. That´s why the Orcs was so well done. I guess they have to work on making the humans also feel big and majestic. They did pretty well with the magic. Truly one of the better I have seen in a movie (can´t wait for Dr Strange to up the game in that). I am so happy the humor was minimal and not slapstick. Some funny parts was just character ineractions. The sheep was like the only silly moment in the movie. I think they missed the mark totally on the Human part of the finale. If that had been handled better then it whould be a better movie. But I think it´s good. Atleast I hope they will get this Orc and Humans done. If they manage that with the sequel or a trilogy then I am eager for a undead and nightelf based movie.

As much as I loved WoW, the novels stole my heart. I AM SO HAPPY they brought Khadgar in since he is my favorite novel characters (next to Thrall), although in The Last Guardian he becomes an old man due to Medhiv's magic. They did not address the other half of Garona's lineage, so I hope they make her Draenei instead of shoehorning her as half human. People were telling me they made her half human, but it was not brought up. I suspect that bone beret in her hair is actually mutated horns from her Draenei side. I hope they turn Christie Golden's 'Lord of the Clan' into the next movie. I absolutely adore Thrall and would love to see his origin story and liberation of the captured Orcs on screen.

This movie was GREAT! The hating in unbelievable. CG was amazing. Cannot wait for more of the familiar story, it's so exciting. I think the Easter Eggs and the character intros are going to be the best part. In future movies going "Oh look its a ...." and " OMG there's ...." is going to be so much fun. Gimme some headhunters, tauren, gyrocopters, a mountain king, blademaster, more spells..a Bloodlust battle scene..omg the possibilities are endless. Totally stoked.

And everybody missed that but Khadgar actually casted ARCANE BARRAGE in one of the fighting scenes which they were ambushed by orcs. The orc was in front and Khadgar was behind so the angle didn't allow us to see the whole swirling floating arcane bolt but as a hardcore arcane mage, I was able to catch it and scream "arcane barrage!" and people was like "shit that's right!" :D

Never played warcraft or WOW, but I loved the movie. The magic was beautiful, the story was much more interesting than I expected and in contrast to what many reviewers say: I had no problems at all following the storylines. IMO, the only bad scene was the one where the young wizard goes to that wizard school and goes into that black box. This has no contribution to the entire movie and the "help" from that old lady was useless. "trust your friends" and that stupid line about darkness and light they kept repeating. Other than this, I loved the movie! I don't know anything about the WOW lore, but I would love to see a sequel!

This is another Easter egg that was at the end of the movie. When Lothar kills Blackhand, and of course Gul'Dan being furious wants to kill Lothar anyway and break tradition. Orcs were standing in his way purposely preventing Gul'Dan from reaching Lothar. One of the Orcs that stood in his way looked exactly like Kargath Bladefist. You could tell by the very pale orc skin and the longer hair.

My favourite thing about the polymorph scene is that he says it only lasts a minute. Just like in WoW :) I also loved all the famous Orc cameos. Grom of course was seen plenty of times. He was fighting Lothar's son before Blackhand's showed up to steal the kill. But you also saw Kargath in the big fight at the portal at the end, just after the portal to stormwind gets taken down. And you then see him again up close when Gul'dan is yelling at them to kill Lothar. Someone told me they even saw Kilrogg in there. I can not confirm that one though.

At some point, I was a bit sad about how it turned out during the movie. - Grommash being almost invisible during the movie, knowing how important his role is fighting Mannoroth alongside Thrall - No background on why Medivh transform that way, and the place where he is during the opening of the portal. - How Stormwind is supposed to fall, and Varian is supposed to build it back. I am a huge fan of the lores in Warcraft, I was wishing to see more and true details about the prime storyline, so you could get the difference with the alternate story of Warlords. Oh well.

The elves in the movie were not Night Elves btw. They were Sindorei which eventually become one of the races of the Horde in the game lore. They fight with the humans during the first two orc wars and then later, after Arthas kicks their butts, become isolated in their homelands until eventually siding with the Horde during the Burning Crusade. They looked wicked in the movie and I wish we had seen more of them. Their teeth looked red, like they had blood on their lips or something. I wondered if that was a nod to what they are referred to in the game now... blood elves.

I've been following the Warcraft games since dinosaurs walked the earth pretty much and played WoW forever, and I still enjoyed the movie a ton despite some of the neggy reviews. I spotted a lot of things they took "creative licence" with for the lore in the film, but none of them were absolutely terrible choices. SPOILER AHEAD: I would like people that have seen the movie to know more about how Durotan in the lore though, specifically how he died. He actually died at the hands of humans, not Gul'dan. His hands were cruelly cut off so he would have to die, specifically, not being able to hold his baby again. When Durotan died, his last thoughts is that he was thankful for death claiming him so that he wouldn't have to watch his baby get eaten by wild animals. (That baby, being who we now know as Thrall, of course, who gets taken by Aedelas Blackmoore....)

Prediction for future movies, following the books & timeline of Warcraft There are 2 paths that they can take after the events of the first movie (The Beginning). Either: A) Gul'dan loses control of the horde to Orgrim Doomhammer & The Second War is shown. ([Orc] Orgrims, [Human] Turalyon's, [B_Legion] Guldan's Perspective) B) Post-Second War, the Rise of Thrall & the events of Lord of the Clans. ([Orc]Thralls Perspective & [Human] King Terenas / Aedelas Blackmoore). This would also introduce Arthas' character, including Muradin, Jaina, Sylvanas & many more through the "Alliance"

Great movie, looking forward to more. Some "easter eggs" I noticed that you didn't bring up: Not so subtle but anyway: Mediveh hands over "Aetish" the staff of the Guardian to Khadgar on several occasions. Forshadowing hehe. The sword Garona points at in the armory when she says "I want that one" (when she is handed a dagger) is actually the Legendary Grand marshal sword from Vanilla WoW. When the human army leaves for the final fight and Llane walks up to his family. His daughter is wearing a dress that you can craft in WoW as a tailor. Well a ton more ...need to rewatch it :)

There was a lot of flailing when we were watching it. We didn't know much about lore and we pretty much always play Alliance. I play World of Warcraft and have never played Warcraft. There was a lot of freaking out over the summoning stone and the murloc and the fishing lure and then the cities... I didn't realize that the baby was Thrall, though, had to look it up when I got home (though I don't normally play Horde, so maybe that's why?). After seeing TINY Khadgar, I feel like I have to complain less about all the quests he makes me go do.... Really hoping that we see the Lich King. So far, the Lich King expansion has been my favorite, but maybe that is just because that's when I started playing the game. I'd love to see Lady Jaina.

I absolutely loved the film. The murloc and sheep comment "We gotta hurry, it only lasts about one minute" got a huge laughter in my theater aswell. I thought something like Harry Potter would have been one of the top ones, just because its a risky territory to make a movie about (kinda nerdy). I played the shit out of the old warcraft 3 games, but I was never interested in the MMO, the storyline doesn't appeal to me at all. A lot of people don't know that Blizzard originally was working with games Workshop, Warcraft was very heavily based on their warhammer fantasy storyline, while Starcraft was heavily based on warhammer 40k universe. They separated and blizzard went more mainstream making it a more kid friendly Disney like franchise. I found this movie ok, but that's it, very far from blown away. I'd enjoy the games workshop R rated movie a lot more, to me blizzard will always be a pale copy. The effects were spot on, really enjoyed those, you're right on the orc bits being well done and humans being a bit weird. The storyline I found pretty found, cliché & just boring, they could have done a better job with writing, that's the one aspect of this movie that really disappointed me.

I really enjoyed the movie having been a 90s kid playing every blizz game, I felt the narrative was really true to the original plot with some good mixups. what I'd love to see in the 2nd movie (depecting the 2nd war beyond the portal) is Uther joining the fight with the alliance as they bring elves/dwarves into the fight, and Lothar falling in battle with his knights in a ambush against orcs/ogres (since the horde inducted trolls/ogres in the 2nd war) Can't wait to see a sequel one day!

The movie was PACKED with eastereggs. Here are some I think are worth mentioning: Murloc (impossible not to see as a fan) Toby Kebbell was also playing Antonidas in Dalaran if IMDB is correct. Glen Close as Alodi Khadgar leveling up at some point (stated by @manmademoon in an interview) Hogger Wanted Poster Darkmoon Faire Poster Chris Metzen as parfume Vendor in Stormwind (shown in featurette) One Take Charlie (Sheep) Arcane Missile from Khadgar Hellscream('s Dad, for all the post Cataclysm Kids) Kargath Bladefist (the WoD Version) Aerial View of Lakeshire The Golem in Kharazan could actually be something like the Curator or a preform of it. Varian Wrynn was shown.

Long time player here, and Honestly the CG are AWESOME. BUT...the movie itself, being based on the game, really made me think there would be some really cool stuff coming. They left out tons of classes, and races being orc and human mostly, with only a few glimpses of dwarf and night elf. The movie was so rushed, that it seemed extremely mashed together and too much thrown into such a short time, with no real big excitement about the plot. I would spend my money on the next one should there be one, but if they made 10 million on opening day, I pray that the next one comes up with a bit more of a streamlined, more in depth version that includes more classes and a less rushed layout of the plot. This one literally made me shake my head as to what they were thinking. It feels like they just wanted to get it out there, like it would be a "Money making movie" Because of the game it is based on, and the players that love it. This will leave me with extreme let down if the next one is the same fashion.

I'm 29 years old & can't help but feel the immature child coming out of me. I watched this movie with my son & we've been playing WoW for 6-7 years and we were blown away. Thank god for the Chinese because in the states it seems this movie wasn't as big as I was hoping for. This movie could easily become a trilogy & hopefully more. CGI, game lore, realistic fighting, & great story telling. Great movie!!!!!!!!!! I'm going see it again in theaters.

I'm not sure if it would over-complicate the films, but I would love to see more emphasis in the future on the various classes/types of magic (introductions to Shamanism, the Holy Light, Druidism, etc.).

Grommash Hellscream appeared in one of the very last scenes with the orcs. He was only in it for a second, but he had gorehowl. I appreciated that.

I loved the movie. I can see why non-fans of the games could be confused and not like it, but I really feel it was a movie meant for all the fans of the game. I was the only one who laughed with the sheep scene. That was so awesome and I whispered to my friend how I have done that so many times on my gnome mage. I also thought it was cool that the gryphon entered the hole in the wall at Stormwind, which is exactly where the gryphon master is in WoW. Enjoyed it so much, I'll definitely be buying the blue ray.

Also I liked how Sargeras himself made a very brief cameo shortly before Karazhan basically blew up with Fel energy.

OMG I ADORE this film! I sat enthralled for the whole thing. Think about - girl bladder not running tot he bathroom for over 2 hours with a large diet coke! Travis - did anyone else hear the lilt of Ragnar Lothbroke in his voice? I was an avid WOW player thru Cata (When Blizz began making a string of really BAD decisions IMHO that ruined the game). I broke up with someone over WoW - so yeah I had it BAD. After seeing this film and remembering the good old days - Blizz either better start having legacy servers OR leaving legacys alone! I plan on seeing it about 5 more times - the first time i was just OMG!!!!! I just enjoyed going back to MY Azeroth, MY world, where there were lore and NPCs had rich story lines and it wasn't a race to level cap! I agree - CGI was INCREDIBLE! I was initially disappointed we didn't see the gnomes (Gnomes would have invented a gun, Dwarves could make them but Gnomish Engineers would have invented them!) or Night Elves but then I thought about the story and yeah, that would have been WAY too much. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE NEVER bring in the stupid Pandas!! Don't ruin the film franchise like you wrecked the game! I can catch another showing this evening then stream GoT on HBO NOW when i get home, then drift off into Nerdvana, maybe log on to my fave legacy server and gank some Hordies in true old-school Rogue fashion! Thanks for a Spot-On Video Charlie. Are you going with anyone :)

*I picked out Grom Hellscream with the quickness. Plus, they hinted at many uprising against Gul'Dan. But my true hero in this movie hands down was Durotan. I loved his character and his bond with Doomhammer was what made me cry during his fight with Gul'dan. They didn't say much to each other, but you could tell that they understood what had to be sacrificed for their cause.*

It might not be the majority but I've seen a lot of hate on this movie already. I feel thought that it's just because it's a movie on a game and that it uses loads of CGI. CGI and game movies seem to have developed a bad reputation (with good reasons in some cases), but it's a shame people can't overlook stigmas to base a movie on its own. Personally, I've never played Warcraft games (except a bit of hearthstone lol) so I wasn't that familiar with the characters, yet I could still understand it and enjoyed it. Obviously I didn't understand all of the references and terminology but it didn't end up really matter. I also completely agree with the CGI vs human characters point. I felt the orcs were much easier to connect with and relate to, whilst the human characters seemed a bit lacking in general. (There were also some epic landscape scenery scenes.)

The arthas and thrall stories are legitimately great, and both have books covering them. Now that the world has been introduced, I would like to see those made.

I'm really into the WarCraft movie. It's my favorite thing right now. I never got into the games and just really liked reading all the material about it to see why everyone was so into it. Because I don't know the material intimately, it has an unknown aspect that I really like. Plus, I miss Hobbit, so WarCraft was the only one who stepped up, as an actual franchise, to meet my need and demand for more elves and orc, trolls and warriors and wizards. I was already very familiar with Marvel and Star Wars, and right now, I prefer WarCraft over the others just because it seems shiny and new in comparison.

Coming from a person who has never played Warcraft, but kind of understands it, I LOVED this movie, it was so great imo

This movie must of been geared more towards WOW players. I didn't get the same feeling I had when playing Warcrafts 1-3. In the original games there was a sense of fear when the Orcish Horde invaded the shores of Lorderon. They came with beasts, siege engines, Ships, and Airships. Where were those? There were multiple kingdoms involved and invaded. Villages slaughtered, forts destroyed, fleets sunk. The movie was smaller scale than what I expected.

I saw the movie, I really enjoyed it. Yes it had obvious flaws, but I feel like they really didn't ruin anything. Yes they could've done better with those flaws, but it still worked to me. I also saw The Angry Birds Movie recently, before Warcraft, and I'm really thinking the curse of bad movies based on videogames is finally starting to end, and I'm happy about that. I've never played a single Warcraft game, not even a fan of the series or a big fan of Blizzard, but I really enjoyed the movie despite only knowing a few names from the games but nothing else, and my parents found enjoyment out of it, and they hate videogames. All-in-all, I am very happy with this and this really ups my optimism for the future.

"Go play W3 and then wow" - Or just watch nobbel87's lore videos, that dude is the warcraft lore mastermind.

I love that the consensus on this movie is basically how Blizz sees the entire game "ORCS ARE AWESOME AND HUMANS ARE....meh" Anyway I loved the movie because I'm a Warcraft fan, so of course I had at least ten orgasms in the theater. I think someone who's never played it would think it was stupid, but it's not really *for* them. It seems like there'll be a sequel, especially seeing how great it did in China. I really want to see more Grom Hellscream in the next movie. I *saw* him in this movie, but he didn't say a word and he's SUPER important.

Polymorph spell is my favorite especially when playing against another human player. They would say, "Hey stop sheeping me. " then I would say"but there so cute" good memories.

Even though Khadgar wasn't the best actor I was surprised because I actually like his portrayal. One of my favorite characters in the movie along with Durotan and Lothar.

Sorry Charlie, Duncan said he's not making the Arthas movie. The whole trilogy is going to focus around Orcs finding their home, it's going to end with them founding their capital Orgrimmar.
