MDI is for speed running, TGP (The Great Push) is for pushing high keys.

MDI is more about going fast than doing "hard" keys. The difficulty comes in the form of how much can you pull without wiping, and has always been played on lower keys but the key level will continue to creep up toward the semi-finals and finals. This is just the group stage.
