love that you are talking about resistance and the desire to be perfect getting in the way of starting something new. And the warden's manual definitely needs more praise for how well written it is

I feel it is full of good advise and worth having in my collection. I might print out a copy so I can make more notes as I read it.

My best advise for a starting DM: Plan the crude outline of the evening and Long term story. Fill in all the blanks with what the players do and listen to their theorys amd plans amd use it to mold the story.... Let it flow and don't force anything into it. Be open and dynamic. The players will love it 😊

That is great advise for both DM's and solo players. I feel we get too caught up in these thoughts that our games need to be perfect and everything needs to go as planned. That is not true things will happen mistakes will be made just keep moving forward and enjoy the journey.

Just bought it myself and agree with you on all points. I have such a hard time physically writing and my spelling is atrocious (spell check fixed that word for me). It does feel good to not worry about it and just start journaling when playing. It becomes second nature after a while. My spelling still sucks but the fact of being organized trumps it.

That is why I feel the advise is so good in the Warden's Manual. Just get at it and start writing. Glad you found the video helpful and don't worry about it being perfect. It just needs to work for you.
