On average. What do you think you have invested in printing, scanning and binding a book. Trying to determine the cost savings in doing it oneself.

@solitaryrpg 5 күн бұрын
It really depends on what you are trying to accomplish. I am more interested in learning how books are made and doing it myself. So most of my investment is in the tools to bind the books. I started with cheap copy paper and just black and white copies of scans downloaded from the internet. It is a fun hobby but takes a lot of time. I have not made a book in awhile and bind more zines today.

I really have a cheap epson eco tank that can't print double sided. So I have to print one side than the second side. The quality comes from my setting. I print photo quality on mat paper, it is one of my setting options. It takes much longer to print but a better result. Check your printer first and see if this helps. Might save you some money.

@solitaryrpg
@solitaryrpg 6 күн бұрын
@@jonio38 If you play the game following the rules I agree it is rather flat. I just added more RPG elements to the game describing the rooms and encounters. For a travel game I don’t want it to be too detailed. Just something fun to play while traveling. I feel the easiest why to add complexity would be to mix up the rooms and create tables for the encounters. This would add more of a random element and make it unknown what you will encounter.

as "gimmicky" as these dice are, it's a little hard to argue on there uniqeness to them. yes a little spendy on what we gotten for them and how little these maybe used. but maybe be apprishiated for any dice goblin collector out there to have a set that many may may never get a chance at. i do hope this company may make improvments on the design and learn on it. rather i back these people again or not is up for debate. but i'm satified on how someone had a dream of a perfectly round ball and made it to a die.

The only other western themed game I own is dead lands from Swade. Might dig through there and see what gems I can dig up. Also, I feel you on the writing, especially with this setting. Thanks for the sub and your thoughts. I still have not found a lot of old west tables and games. They are out there just not treated the same as fantasy or sci fi. These Morg Borg style games are not meant to last long and it is better just to enjoy the character while you have them. Have a great day.

@solitaryrpg
@solitaryrpg Ай бұрын
Here is what is written in the book. Solo play within Moria is complementary to Strider Mode, a supplement for The One Ring that offers rules and tools for solo play, including expanded events for overland travel. You can utilise Strider Modes in addition to these guidelines if your adventures take you beyond the confines of Moria. However, Strider Mode is not required to play a solo campaign in Moria. If you prefer to explore Moria as a lone hero without the aid of a Band of Allies, you can use Strider Mode along side some of the resources herein to help depict your lone exploration of these ancient halls. So the solo rules are something that can be used with Strider Mode or stand alone. I was hoping that we would see Strider Mode printed in a book at some point. With these new solo rules you are running with allies. It also has some great tables for creating your adventure. I have not read through all the rules yet but I like what I see.
