Loved this series Andrew. Very informative on how the game plays out. I think the Japanese commander's arrival was your undoing. His ability to generate reinforcements at such a high level was brutal. Great game tho, many thanks 😁

Thanks very much, Kevan, glad you liked it and I think you're absolutely right about the commander. His Cover rating of 5 and ability to use his subordinates as human shields while making them more efficient is just nasty....Better luck next time, eh? 🤣

Hello Andrew! Job well done on the Warfighter vids - informative AND entertaining as always. Provided me with a clear understanding as to the mechanics of the game, which (to me) felt less like Up Front and much more like the next gen of the old Ambush series from Victory Games. That said, it sufficiently peaked my interest in the latter to get it back on my table as soon as I can get a break between current campaigns with Western Front Ace and B-17 QotS. Also curious if Warfighter offers a campaign component that would allow you to take on the ID of the personal soldier and if so, would we perhaps see the good Sgt. Choong on future missions. Cheers!

Hello Jeff! Hope you're well and thanks as always for the very kind comments. I think 'Ambush' makes for a very good comparison with this game, especially in terms of how the random encounters with the enemy occur. To be honest, it does slightly irritate me that there is not a 'no contact' option in the game, as I would personally prefer to hold back on the shooting if I can until I've reached my objective. The time limit and difficult terrain penalties would keep me honest in most missions. There are campaign missions in this game, but it lacks a DYO soldier element, another thing that puts it behind 'Up Front'. I might keep Sgt Choong for the latter game :) All Best, Sir :)

I was surprised when I saw the “concluding part” on the video title, then I began watching and an infantry gun showed up, and then I stopped being so surprised. Is there no cap on the amount of suppression a single soldier can have?

Yeah, to be honest I had no notion that things would spiral out of control so quickly, especially as I thought I was doing rather well at first. Welcome to warfare, I suppose 😅 No, there is no suppression cap, which does make getting pinned down in this game deadly. The pressure will stay on until they either get a lucky shot or overwhelm you with reinforcements....

Think I’ll stick with the ETO theatre, recon it’s a bit easier. Goes against my intentions as playing Australians in the Pacific Theatre would be great.

If you get a chance, I'd recommend giving the PTO a whirl. I have the Australian expansions and they include some very tough troops. The Brits are a mixed bag and there are no Indians or Nationalist Chinese yet, as far as I know. Also, I was foolishly playing against the Japanese 'Elite' deck. The regular troops give you a little more of a break.
