Quick correction: You CAN full strip acolytes! Apply 4 corrosive stacks, cast 3 (removes the corrosives procs and reduces their armor permanently), and re-apply corrosive stacks!

Do note that Corrosive always removes a % of the remaining, and not of the original value. So 4 procs will remove 68%. After Plunder, if you stack 4 Corrosive procs again, it will remove 68% of the remaining 32%. And the cycle continues. Generally, it's better to just kill them with the Corrosive buff than bother trying to full strip them with Plunder. It takes ~6-7 casts iirc to full strip them that way.

I came up with a very similar build to your plunder build, but I subsumed Citrine's fractured blast on his 1. You can group up enemies pretty easily with 2, which perfectly sets up for your 3 and your 1. My 3 gives 156 armor/enemy up to around 2915 armor, and my 1 has a 85% chance of generating a health orb on kill, which returns energy through equilibrium and synergizes with arcane blessing, restorative bond, and synth fiber. Looking at it now, I could easily swap the subsume to his 4th ability, since tentacle swarm is never used. As always, thanks for sharing these setups with the community! Overall the changes made to Hydroid are jaw dropping and I think he'll be my go-to frame for the foreseeable future!

more specifically about the armor strip, any enemy every damaged by hydroid will permanantly lose 50% armor from the first corrosive proc if they have any corrosive

I have one for you, I don't know if its worth playing around with for you, But Hydroid's Tempest Barrage over Kullervo's 1 Link the enemies Viral Tempest Storm of Ukko Almost everything is gone. Adding some rain to the Storm of Ukko. If you have decent duration ukko and barrage will stay up and you can link again without having to do the full rotation. Combine with any non frame ability grouping tool for better results.

I realllike these builds, especially the nourish one, I've been using the same type of build since the first few hours the hydroid rework went live... personally though, I always build him with pilfering swarm, the 100% extra drop chance is just too good, and since I've peppered him with amber archon shards, I give 0 F's about casting speed😂

I'm thinking some ''hybrid'' tanks could benefit from this gating system too, even minimal but consistent I-frames on top of healing and DR on both shields/hp can be quite strong against chip dmg, and with some awareness/a little double/triple casting here and there, you can prep for burst dmg without fully modding for a great gate. I'm super torn on what I prefer for Hydroid overal, it can be kind of tricky when your 3 runs out at a bad time when hp tanking, and I kinda wanna keep as much room possible for power and spammability. I wanna usually have Breach Surge, but that makes the energy economy worse, whereas Nourish makes it better.

You can slot Equilibrium if using a sentinel with Synth deconstruct + Helstrum to solve his energy issues. That way you have a free slot use helminth, I personally remove his 4 as the way it hooks enemies seems very impractical and 2 + augment is quite good. Some augur mods feel great to use as you have 1 as a reliable spammable ability to provide you shield gating.

Don't forget that Rousing Plunder also gives 50% extra max armor and max corrosive damage for plunder while also fully healing yourself *and* teammates aswell as being able to fully heal your shields with certain shield gating builds that use catalyzing shields. The benefits of the augment are basically: +50% extra max armor +50% extra max corrosive damage + full heal for yourself and your teammates + full shield gate with 100% efficiency (ca.), brief respite and catalyzing shields

I have a tip for corrosive + viral chaining beams, at least the Torid: You know how there's enemies that survive your chains, and then you have to aim for them as well? Just put Hunter Munitions on there. It gets nothing out of your insane elemental %, but do you REALLY need to? HM is an increase to kps. I use this on Wisp as well, where HM also helps it scale once direct dmg falls off, great pair with Hydroid. Stripping + Viral spread is AMAZING for Breach Surge, btw., maybe squeeze a Mag in.

Is there a ‘lazy tank’ (health or super super easy shield gate) frame that focuses on ability casts and can easily kill 3hr SP enemies with abilities (even if using weapons as primers/utility set up for the abilities to kill

Khora. I personally run lycaths hunt on her with equilibrium for energy economy and then catalyzing shields with brief respite and augur mods for old school style shield gates. Use whipclaw, watch everything die. Unkillable, unstoppable, farm machine.

Hydroid was finally done some justice. Also as it's best to always use Pilfering Swarm (because otherwise wtf are you doing playing Warframe), there's finally a loot frame for me. Nekros sucks and Khora's dome and playstyle doesn't suit me. This frame was always a badass, now it just lives up to it. Also try Sickening Pulse.

It doesn't change the KPM of the build, so I didn't bother to cast it. A 1+3 spam build has 120-140 KPM. And a 1+Tonkor build also has 120-140 KPM. So basically you pick one of the two, and it's pointless to do both since they want slightly different stats on those kind of builds. The overall KPM would be the same.

Here is my best quality of life build for overall use (also circuit with open areas): *Mods* Brief Respite, Primed Sure Footed Primed Continuity, Catalyzing Shields, Equilibrium, Rousing Plunder (for healing), (Archon-)Stretch, Primed Flow, Adaptation, Viral Tempest - i don't know if the first ability still kills in endgame (level 1k+) till level cap but even if it doesn't, with the augment "Viral Tempest" you still get 10x corrosive *and* viral stacks on each enemy that stands in your creeping barage for priming and full armor strip(!), which makes it still OP and really fun to use. - definitly use *both* augments! Viral Tempest to spread viral everywhere and get extra damage and Rousing Plunder for *50% extra* max corrosive damage and armor(!) aswell as passive full heal for eZ health tanking. *Arcanes* Molt Augmented Arcane Blessing *Helminth* Coil Horizon (for grouping instead of Tentacle Swarm but keep tentacle swarm in missions like kuva survival) - Breach Surge works too if you want to use it instead *Archon Shards* 2x Amber Archon Shards for casting speed (QoL) 3x Crimson Archon Shards for ability strength - get them tauforged if possible for more fun *Companion* Smeeta Kavat mainly for resource buffs For Fashion Frame i would recommend the blue energy color from the transmission palette (middle row, up to down, 4th and 5th for left and right energy color) and the Iliac Syandana cause it fits hydroid perfectly. Benefits of this build: - Kill everything no problem - infinite scaling - No energy problems - Works in every environment(!) - Ability cast is fluid AF - Its fun to use Negatives of this build: - You need the archon shards, mods and arcanes to make this build work perfectly. PS. for maximum fun, use Madurai for more casting speed and power strength, Magus Elevate + Magus Lockdown, Raplak (- or Klamora) + Phahd + Lohrin Amp for eZ self revives with madurai (alt fire cause it is target seeking and insane in damage) + Ethernal Onslaught + Virtuos Surge (-or Eternal Eradicate) and good weapons like Torid + Kuva Nukor + Glaive Prime.

I disagree with hydroid using catalyzing shields. You cast far far too much while having shield restore mods to always have a respectable SG even going hours in SP disruption. Pilfering also helps energy econ as it generates orbs, however I would only do so for endless rather than move quick missions. I also wish you listed projectile melee for hydroid synergy until DE fixes 4's anti-normal melee. My favorite hydroid melee currently being gunblades, specifically stropha, due to multi-hits and dmg output even at range. If DE ever fix hydroid's 4 anti-normal melee I can imagine dual ichor being the absolute best for hydroid. Which is funny because it's also my BiS for the corrosive queen.

@@jackalheart4555 undertow had some unique synergies. Various weapons could be made aoe inside undertow. All true damage done in the puddle increased the puddle damage. There was one set up where you used the alt fire of the Mutalist Quanta and positioned the shot right it would make every tick an electric proc and do damage in the puddle causing everything to get electric proc damage and puddle enhanced by electric damage. Same could be done with volts shields. Also there was a fun synergy of ore gaze and tentacle swarm that let you delete enemies as they would take pick up true damage for every tick in the game resulting in enemies taking 600 true damage every 1/10 of a second. This was sadly removed however. I feel like some of the harder but interesting mechanics and mechanisms most wouldn't even notice have been removed and hydroid became a gun platform. Which is fine. I know I'm a weird guy that likes to do weird strategies that build rather than single button click causes giant number.

​​@@loganmcdougall8647I have to disagree about the solo farm build. I think it's the build that makes the most sense. A solo farm build requires 2 things, high amounts of kills (not damage, kills) and obscene survivability (because since you're farming, you may have to stay 2+ hours in a survival map and by that point, health tanking builds will still melt). For maximising kills per minute, you need 2 things: enough damage and enough spawns to kill. Damage is self explanatory, however spawns are more complicated. The amount of spawns depend on tile placement in the map and your line of sight, and once you are in a good place, you do not want to have to move around to group enemies cause you risk ruining the spawn pattern. Hence, you need another grouping ability (which in this build is delegated to the sentinel). On the other side of the spectrum, you can't subsume over 2 cos it's a status cleanse (heat procs and toxin procs WILL kill you if you can't cleanse it if you're deep enough into survival) and you can't fit in Rolling Guard. You also can't subsume over 1 or 4 cos they're the core parts of the farming build. Now that only leaves subsuming over 3, which while useful is not as important to the strategy as the other abilities (you're still doing enough damage to kill fast anyway, your bottle neck will often be not having enough enemies to kill). As for the subsume choice, Quiver is chosen because invis is in practice invulnerability. There are other ways to do this, but Quiver is the simplest, and when you're over 2 hours in a farm, you really don't want things to be too complicated.

Havent played warframe in a while but this rework feels a little sour to me just looking at it from the outside, I wouldn't call it a rework as much as a small touchup. It's heavily carried by the passive, if the passive wasn't there none of this would be any good at all and would just be minor QOL changes plus a single new skill. He's a good frame now don't get me wrong, just doesn't exactly feel worthy of the word rework.
