I lost my child ten years ago this year. Its one of the hardest things to see your dreams and hopes die in front of you. Umbra is me in so many ways. All you think about is the pain and how much it hurts. Soon that becomes all you think about. But even though I have my demons, it doesn't mean that I am alone. Sometimes in order to face our demons, we need the help of others. Umbra helped me see that. I am Umbra. This quest is my favorite in all of the media I have taken part in. Thank you Digital Extremes and Thank you for making this video. You All helping me take the pain away. I am so Proud to be a TENNO.

I relate to umbra.... the dreams of seeing your older brother became successful, the dream of him having his own family, all perishes within the matter of seconds, he fell to the ground lifeless, in your own arms, on your special day, it was supposed to be a happy day and yet, that day is now the day you mourned and grieved for your lost. "We use this memory to fuel our wrath" is how I feel after what happened to my own brother, in front of me on my own birthday, he laid in my arm, his breath slowly fades and the last word he said to me was "take care"... He was a big fan of warframe, I cried when I saw this quest, did all I can as an MR6 to get him, and his storyline is as painful as my real life is at some point. To see the one you love and adore, gone in front of you. And you have no control over it, it's the most devastating feelings. And just like when we first encountered umbra, he still has his guard up, never letting anyone to control nor know him better, because of how damaged he was. That, is how I am. The absence of him in my life has changed me slowly, and just like what ballas said, "Howl all you want, it won't bring him back" is how everyone around me said about him... "Cry, Scream and Shout all you want, it won't bring him back". The Sacrifice quest itself made me feel like I am a part of umbra himself.... He might be fictional but we both share the same pain, the same regret and the same remorse. I am a Tenno, the operator for my Warframe, but Umbra, is it's own Operator and it's own Warframe. ~0M43D4_Y0SH10

This quest, this theme will forever be amazing. Had a close friend who loved playing Warframe, I pretty much grew up with him. Losing him months ago was painful, even till now it still is. Coming here reminds me of him, we used to talk about this game a lot. He would always talk about his builds and he loved doing Arbitration runs and Steel Path, he was a sucker for high level content. All he wanted was for the pain to end, so I hope that maybe it was finally taken away... I feel I still haven't accepted what has happened, if anything I've felt more empty then ever, but coming here always feels nice. Time flies doesn't it?

The last words that someone has before departing this world will always stay with you, haunting you. When my aunt contracted Stage 4 Lung cancer, it tortured her, ravaged her, it played with her. At a certain point, she’d lost basically all of her body mass, and was little more than a skeleton with a layer of flesh covering it. Having to have everything done for her. I recall her last words being that she was at peace with what was happening to her, that she knew she wouldn’t live for much longer, and that she accepted that. While that was supposed to bring peace to her family, all it brought was grief for most, and rage for me. I’ve always had a temper issue, almost always having a constant anger, yet, trying to repress it to not harm those around me. “We use this memory. It fuels our wrath.” hit deeper for me, because all I felt was wrath for the next few years. “We accept this memory, and move beyond its reach.” is how I’ve begun to feel as I come to terms with those I’ve lost.

This song is perfect in the context of the quest. "To take its pain away" how the operator, even with umbra hurting and resisting, was determined to help the guilt-filled warframe in search for something they (the operator) loved the most. "Smiles of Juran" (its other title) maybe Juran being a metaphor for the memory of Umbra's son and the smiles being the fact that umbra loved his son and shouldn't be wanting revenge on ballas for turning him(umbra) into the imperfect warframe but should be happy that it wasn't his fault for killing his son as in the vitruvian it mentions how the orokin turned the best they had into the warframes unwillingly and in the quest it mentions that Umbra was one of the best Dax as he gained the Lua cross (which must have been a great reward). Umbra, after the sacrifice, now rests in peace, knowing that he isn't completely hated, but is loved by the operator. And the guitar solo at the start represents how lonely umbra is after his son's death but as the music gets more "active" it shows how he found his way and found peace after bonding with the operator

This song hits deeply for so many of us on an emotional level. Reading the comments and seeing people share their pain and grief filled experiences, in a way, is such a beautiful thing. That a game can bring together a community like this to give each other support. I believe each and every one of us is like Umbra in some way. And we all have "operators" to keep us from falling into darkness, whether that be family or friends or even the gaming community in general. Digital Extremes needs to know how impactful their game truly is. ❤

Pls no, one of the things that makes the story of warframe so satisfying is the grind and connection you develop with the characters, and I don't think that that can be accurately conveyed in an hour or two. Growing up over seas was hard, you never get to keep your friends close and feel alone all the time. And at the really bad posts it's scary when your young. You don't know if your bus ride to school today could end up with you dead. Or sometimes even in the good places your American so your the subject of mockery. It's hard, and when your own siblings seem to have it out for you it can be rough. I found warframe... sheesh it seems so long now, but shortly after they switched Loki for Volt as the starter. Mag was who I picked and I was welcomed into this whole new world, this wild fun crazy time eating community of fashion obsessed nut jobs who helped me grow instead of berating me. And through it all this game really carried me. It's people and it's story. Just... wow. And this song really just kinda rocked my world the first time around and every time after. To Take Away it's Pain. How this community took away my pain. And by the comments, the pain of so many others. Thank you. All of you.

I love how relateable the characters in Warframe are. For myself I have alot in common with Rell. Warframes stories are very deep and speak to the human condition.

This song shows that even in a time of great strife. Like the Old war to now in the current time that when the tenno finally awake from their long slumber and see the solar system in such disarray that there can be peace. not peace from the combat and bloodshed mind you, but peace of mind and peace for the soul. This song taught us that and umbra made it possible.

This game is very special since it helps relate to a lot of people who have witnessed tragedies, mainly death of family members and friends, and playing it helps these unfortunate players to get some peace and closure.

The worst thing to lose is yourself when you're at the point of no return. To have yourself broken to the point that you want to Sacrifice your life. So that the pain stops and yet to rebuild yourself from a broken mess inside, and to bring peace to the war within. Is something I'm still going through. This song reminds me of my depression. Which has left me scared and wounded. But with time any wound and any scar will heal. This Song Brings Me Peace.

This song reminds me of an online friend I once had. We’d spend almost every day, talking and just spending time with one another. That was until I got news from their sibling that they had sadly passed away. That anger and grief of loosing them broke me. Playing this quest truly reminded me of those emotions, but in a good way. I could truly relate to Umbra and why this song really connects to me on an emotional level. This song truly encapsulates all those emotions, the sadness, the anger, and finally the overcoming of said emotions. Do those feelings ever go away? Not necessarily. However quoting Warframe, “We accept this memory, and move past its reach.”
@heavyduty11792 жыл бұрын
I know this is a game, but the stories and meanings behind this game is so much more than people come to realize. If you truly look into the sayings of choices we have like "We accept this memory.. and move beyond it's reach." you can't help but to wonder "is there something in my life like that?" the only time you truly see something like that is when something similar happened to the writer of the story. all through out Warframe they put us into IRL problems but shown in a different way. this game teaches you and most don''t even realize it.

We drugged them, tortured them, eviscerated them... We brutalized their minds... but it did not work. Until they came. And it was not their force of will - not their Void devilry - not their alien darkness... it was something else. It was that somehow, from within the derelict-horror, they had learned a way to see inside an ugly, broken thing And take away its pain.

My grandmother had breast cancer. For a long time after her passing all I could think about was 'I should have spent more time with her" or "I don't feel like I made her proud". So it came as a shock to me when playing this silly space ninja game it hit me hard with the message behind the sacrifice. Just like how Umbra needed someone to help him come to acceptance of his past this game helped me confront my own and realize that for all the things I could've done for my grandmother I did just as many good things. We can't change the past but instead hold onto the best parts of it. Remember Tenno, "We accept this memory, and move beyond its reach"

Losing a friend, a family, or even a part of yourself as a person. Trauma, pain, sadness, it can all be hard to move on. To let go. I went through an awful time in middle school and high school due to a divorce that went on for 5 years between my parents. Everything was both about me, and never about me during that time. Both of them wanted nothing more than getting back at each other, ignoring my needs. And being a teenager during that time, I was of course going through the typical changes of starting to discover myself as a person, individual from any others. But, some of those "minor changes" weren't acceptable to my father, wanting me to be a "normal, manly man" kind of son. Inspired in part by his religious intolerance of anything straying from the norm, he chose it more important to use me choosing to make probably the most important decision in my life to hurt both me and my mother when I moved in with her to finally escape his bullshit. Using the legal loophole of me being a minor at the time still, he'd stolen my entire bank account from me. We tried suing him for it back, but it was corrupt court case in the end, as we didn't get to speak our side. I've lived with that hurt, that pain, for years. The things my father said and did to me mentally and emotionally, all so he could get "revenge" on my mother. It hurt. And for so long I lived with these memories. Until about a year ago, I met someone who was not only willing to hear my story, but actually help me begin to heal in whatever ways they could. The nicest person I'd ever met, almost even a version of the kind of person I could of been had my childhood not gone like it did. And as it turned out, though we met on a game called Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis, he also played Warframe, and helped me properly get into the game and enjoy it. I love the game. I was never religious, and I don't know if I ever will be. But for the sake of this friend of mine, I genuinely hope deep down I'm wrong, so that this friend can go to a truly better place than this world we live in now. People like them are a rarity, and I found my "Guardian Angel." I'll cherish them forever as long as I live. I still hurt sometimes from the memories, but with my Guardian Angel, I can finally "Accept this memory, and begin to move beyond its reach." To all my fellow Tenno, I say this. Find your Guardian Angel. And don't let go.

I almost feel there is some meaning to Umbra's torn face once he is first crafted (Also depicted in the Sunder Helmet) where, it shows himself inside the shell he was made into, and then it is quickly closed, as if trying to block away the outside world. I mean after an eternity of "a burning memory" it would make sense.
