It's possible that 1999 may be a way to change the solar system in the same way The New War did. I suspect what will happen, is the story of 1999 will alter the fate of Deimos, preventing everyone from becoming infested. That may be a way to bring the proto Warframes into the current game; they were saved in stasis pods, and "building them" requires locating and recovering the pods. It may be done like building void becon locators in a vein of building warframes, but the result is a mission, possibly defense or something new, where you go in and retrieve them. This could introduce lore and backstory for each new protoframe that gets released, and their own ways to go recover them. I dunno, spit-balling here, bit there is a lot of room for game expansion with this.

Let's be real here; Warframe 1999 will absolutely be its own content island. New War made some pretty cool changes to the Star Chart. Gave a decent sense of regression seeing how Fortuna/Orb Vallis changed, seeing the remnants of the New War all over the Star Chart. But... All the Narmer related stuff is still its own content island. Narmer missions, and the Narmer faction, is intirely isolated from everything else in Warframe.

What I would REALLY love to see is a second star chart to work through (like Steel Path but actually different). Like a fresh start for everyone- I'm at MR-24 or so, and I haven't been playing much cause I have almost everything I want and no content feels challenging (except endurance). I thought Whispers was going to be hard but I steamrolled through it with my usual gear, and I probably would have loved Duviri if we could use our frames in the open world. Fingers crossed 🤞

But I am over hyping this update a bit too much. I think they wouldn't do all frames this but if they did that would be insane if anything. I actually hope that 1999 is what I dream which is a complete remake on Dark sector, that game was the bases of what Warframe is now at days but it definitely aged like milk, plus the lore isn't connected directly outside of a few hints, so it would be cool to see Dark sector being completely remade and connect it with the lore, and maybe expand it to see how the Warframe technology actually started.

I think they are gonna revamp/remake all tile sets and add an old school theme to make them feel more 1999-ish, hence why the update will be so big. With this addition we’ll most likely be able to switch between regular tile sets and the updated ones.

I'm kinda in the camp of some commenters that the Proto-warframes might be a huge deal. While I'm way more interested in them becoming skins, I think there might be a 3rd warframe variant with proto-frames that would be their own thing if that makes sense so they can play around with warframe concepts again without just reworking what people like. Lets be fair they really had to pull pretty far away from Volt when they made Gyre who is also be an electric based warframe to avoid people just thinking it's just a Volt reskin. So I imagine new magnetic warframe would be pretty difficult to pull off without it just being compared to Mag that already exists. But if they essentially create a new frame that is just "Mag with some unique qualities" It will avoid that type of discussion cropping up if they are essentially a 3rd version of Mag. They might even be able to add unique helminth-style feature where Proto Versions and Non proto versions can swap an ability on top of a helminth though that is completely out of left field thinking.

If it's going to be an all new chart human type frames. Then I say make it an earth chart where it's like a parallel universe with the space warframe but here on earth and all the frames and enemies have the earth/human counterparts. That would bring huge long term play ability to the game as it would be like starting the entire game all over again but on earth and with humans. Then for other areas beyond the main chart like daimoss and so on could be certain points in earths history that could face as harder content and steal path could be the eras of dinasoars. And that entire chart revolves around all the eras from the time with the dinasoars that would have been the easiest to beat to the hardest. Then instead of many different areas have 1 large area for each era with places like Fortuna places throughout the eras as base camps. Then each era would have their own unique camps based around the dinasoars at that time and the dinasoars in the area of the camp.

@@vector2-074 When I started playing in 2013 Loki was one of the starters and I choose him as a starter. Later he was replaced because Loki at that time was a squishy frame even the very early warframe when the enemies was not that high in level but was stronger and more tankier despite the level range was lower. Volt was a bit more tankier with the shields so he replaced Loki because mainly of this and Volt was easier to use / survive with.
